This is not O's fault. This is the fault of ADs and Presidents of elite programs nationwide. ADs are well groomed, "intelligent", have a good track record that propelled them to the positions they are in today. With this experience, they are cautious to hire anyone who has off the field quirks considering the liability risk and brand damage.

For a major D1 program, someone like Leach, who talks about random stuff [the honesty and no-shits given takes that make him so likeable] may be perceived as being unprofessional to someone like an AD who went up the ranks where professionalism was held to the highest regard--not to mention the sign off by the guy with a greater academia stick up his arse, the President. Because of this, Mike Leach has consistently done more with less, to say the least, at tier 2-3 programs like Texas Tech and WSU.

What if a program like LSU, with the caliber of players, facilities and "resources" [let's be honest, $ and non $ resources], had a coach like Mike freaking Leach?

Seriously, stop that thought and give it a few seconds to process.

Don’t compare O’s intelligence to Leach. Leach never played football and has a law degree from Pepperdine. That dude is freaking smart.

He's also a pirate and has a few published books on the art of on the field warfare.

Congratulations on worst thread of the day

I've noticed over the years that people on this forum are generally not capable of explaining why.

Leach has 1 game under his belt in conference play. Let’s see how the season plays out now that SEC DC’s have video to analyze.

Leach has forgotten more about football than our guy knows. That said, he's aloof and doesn't play politics. Our guy is pretty much the polar opposite, he's gregarious and is an expert at hobnobbing his way into jobs.

Programs with storied histories and prominent boosters want a coach that will kiss arse and make them feel important, and that's not Leach. I don't see him ever having a job at a traditional power.

Yes, because after Aranda and Brady leaves, and all of the coaches that follow them, what do you do? Sure, recruiting will surge after that one NC, but how sustainable is it after recruits realize that O' is just a cheerleader?

Well he did lose to Miss. St. at home. But then again, I see your point. He lost to Mike Leach.
