every week on finebaum they report the findings of a poll they do to find out who the happiest fanbases are. I don't know how scientific it is, but this week Clemson fans were the happiest, and LSU fans were the 3rd happiest.

now you'd never know it from following this board. on average, I think half the posters on here are really unhappy and negative.

so based on this, the rant is not representative of the fan base, which would correspond with anecdotal evidence of personal experience and the experience of folks I know, that the fan base is pretty happy with our football program.

it is the rant after all. venting frustrations is all part of it. But, the point is, people who are happy are not idiots.

This board could never under any circumstances be considered reflective of the actual fanbase. It's the misfits and malcontents that come here crying about firing coaches that have a good chance of having the best record in years.

You said something positive about the football program. Prepare for downvotes.

The fanbase showed up to a game to support Les Miles and our A.D. gave him another year. How did that turn out?

This website is a cancer. It makes our fanbase look bad and an absolute joke that Chicken and the mods that he’s selected let things get this out of control.

I regularly visit about 10 forums and there literally isn’t another website on the internet that allows even 10% of the kind of bullshite that goes on here at the expense of the public perception of an entire fanbase or group of people. All of the miserable shitheads who only get social interaction by shitposting on this board are going to attack me over this and post their typical smartass replies, but the way that our coach and program are represented and trashed after the slightest bit of adversity is absolutely ridiculous and it should be controlled to a certain extent, especially when it’s the same exact thread over and over and over and over and over. Once is fine, no clue why they let the board have the same 10 negative topics repeated on the front page for weeks at a time though

I almost threw up when this happened. One of my top 10 cringeworthy moments: seeing the governor step in before the game to frick over our program because MUH LES, thus causing the mouthbreathers to show up in full force vs TAMU as Les was about to get fired, eventually encouraging the players to carry Les off the field after a mediocre win vs TAMU because it was supposed to be his last game. Sure enough the same bullshite that was gonna get Les fired after TAMU, occurred at Lambeau the next season and into Auburn. arse got canned

I pretty much disagree with all of your post, but respect that opinion and respect even more that you have the best interest of LSU in mind. It was like this for Miles as well and I don't remember there being as many posts as what I quoted then. I could be remembering wrong, but it seems that for some reason people have a real soft spot for Coach O and I just don't understand it.

It doesn’t have anything to do with O for me. I thought it was a bad thing when it happened to Miles, and for the record I don’t like either of them as permanent solutions to our team’s problems. It’s simply the fact that this website is a big cesspool of constant and unchecked negative publicity. I can understand why people would disagree with me and I respect that, but when it starts having a tangible effect on how ESPN, for example, talks about our fanbase, then something needs to be reeled in.

It’s pretty obvious that Chicken is letting this go for his own personal financial gain and he’s free to chime in and explain why he’s let this website get so bad if I’m wrong, but it’s honestly just a shitty look for the university and our state and fanbase and nothing is being done about it and it pisses me off

ETA: all I’m saying is that 30 miserable little college pricks who’ve never played a sport past high school shouldn’t be the public representatives of our football fanbase. There are the same people saying the same dumb shite and controlling the narrative on here and it’s old and it’s killing this website. There was a time where there was actually legitimate, insightful, civil discussion on this website as hard as that is for most people to believe

Certainly agree with that although I believe Orgeron has really done a good job this season. If they can make some changes to make the offense better next season, this team is going to be very strong again next year. I don't necessarily mean coaching changes, but tweaks in the offensive philosophy.

The message board offers instant feedback and of course you're right that people take things too far at times, but I think it's one of those things that you take the good with the bad.

And attack one another. I think many on here feel like big men when they are nasty to others behind the protection of a computer screen.

I'm happy. Happy to be in Tiger Stadium this Saturday, from Pre-Game to the Alma Mater..... Tiger Band reunion game. Can't wait.

There was and I agree with your edit. I would add that it goes both ways though. There are a group of posters that twist every little thing they can into a negative to promote the narrative even more that people "hate" Orgeron.

The guy you responded to has more unprovoked personal attacks than everyone else on the rant combined.

We’ll agree to disagree here but I see what you’re saying ever been to 4chan? The anonymous, unchecked human mind being able to say whatever it wants at all times isn’t a good or impressive thing IMO. Entertaining in some cases, yes, but like I’ve been saying I don’t think that our most popular website should be used for entertainment. I just think it would be 1000x better if it was properly moderated. They’re like umpires, you shouldn’t even notice them if they’re doing a good job and the ones here are fricking terrible

Oh boy this moron is back. Been a while since I’ve seen you ruin every single thread on the front page simultaneously.
