All we need is consistent and competent play from the QB position.
And there you have it! The majority of our fanbase has given up on even hoping for really good QB play!
NOOO! Mediocre play at QB should not be acceptable.

No it doesn't... It rests on COACHING and putting the talent you have in the best position to win... LSU has LOADS of talent and it is not being used right... Harris is a very important part of this, But not the sole reason....... I have NEVER seen ONE player win a football game..............

Wow "coach" I'm sure the whole staff at LSU is waiting for an in person get together with you and the rest of the rant negaturds. With the advice and vast knowledge of all of you they should be able to cobble together the greatest team ever seen. Be sure not to forget your madden games so you can show them how easy it is to do.

2nd year. It will be his second full season. Practice is where you prepare. But games are where you learn the biggest lessons.
Agree that games are where you get real experience, but Harris has now been in Cam's system for two full years. Spring practice will start year 3.

Hmmm, so everything rides on one guy? Ummm NO.

It's not easy. No one said it was easy.
But when you're paid millions of dollars and have all the talent, facilities, and support you need, you've got to put a quality product on the field.

slightly less retarded special teams play
receivers have to quit dropping catchable balls
some necessary defensive depth
competent linebacker play
and of course, we'll have to make sure the "LSU offense" doesn't rear its ugly head at the worst time i.e. november

Actually in college football, QB is crucial to success. So yea, if you have bad QB play, an otherwise talented team will struggle.

I hear what you're saying, but yeah, you probably won't see any difference in BH '15 to BH '16.
Sorry dude.
Sorry dude.

if you didn't notice BH's improvement throughout the season you weren't looking. sure, playing against the front 7's of bama and ole miss was tough but he hung in there against them.
he was new in the early season and the coaches didn't want to ruin his confidence early. this early season will be different.
I tire of the phrase "coach him up". sure coaching is damn important but learning is a two way street and in sports it's not only knowing what to do but actually executing it properly.

Special Teams? Punting, FGs, Coverage? Is this fixed?
That's all on Harris? Really?

I keep hearing all this blather about being paid millions and talent yada yada. This isn't a factory floor where you tweak a setting and everything jumps to another level. Like I said a million times THIS ISN'T YOUR FREAKING MADDEN GAME KID. No cheat codes and a half ton of variables that go into a team. "Quality product"? Winning seasons are not enough for you kids and your video game frames of reference. Oh no we have to be champs EVERY year. Jesus Christ. This is the real world. Games are lost on the damndest things. Injuries, crazy bounces of the ball, penalties one way or the other. A reciever that is supposed to be reliable drops easy passes that would have meant victory. A fumble by a rb that normally protects the ball. Grow the hell up. The product is a damn good one the record says it all. And by all means sputter and spout the negaturd mantra. It has and always will mean less than nothing to anyone that knows real life and real life football. Now, it's 4th and 2 you better get back to your madden game.

I guess that's true. I mean I guess you are assuming Fournette will be rushing for 2000 yards?

This is the essence of the ignorant.
Everyone in the SEC and almost everyone in the top 30 have great facilities ,coaches making millions and much more support than our current staff.
Some of u think LSU has all this talent and LSU recruits itself. Any coach can bring in a top 5 class every year and all of our players are first rounders. Its the coaches that are holding us back. bullshite
Did we have 4-5 guys last yr that wouldve started on Bama's team?
How many nfl first rounders?
The op is right that the team will go as far as harris takes them. Its a qb thing now with the elite college teams. No, one guy doesn't win or lose but when the competition is close, its the qb that will most likely be the difference maker. Lsu's 3 losses were to teams that had much better qb play than harris.
coincidence?
Harris has the tools but so do many qbs . A qb can either make it happen or he cant regardless how fast or how strong his arm is. Fast eyes, processing information, getting on or encouraging the right giy at the right time theres a plethora of things. No one in here can say for certain that he isnt being coached correctly.
He didnt get it done last yr which is all that matters. He was inexperienced and these SEC defenses are ridiculous so no one is blaming harris' talent or the coaches for last year's below avg qb play that has a clue. Love the madden reference spot on.
We need avg or better Sec QB play to have a chance at a title, its that simple.

Uh, I'm 51 and don't play a single second of video games.
The record says it all? You think padding our record with 3-4 cupcakes a year and wins against some weaker SEC teams, but getting dominated by the better teams on our schedule, is a "quality product?"
