I was watching at my parents house and left at about that time. It was past the kids bedtime and I didn't think I was going to miss anything.

I don't remember the exact timing, but the killer for me was when we took over in our own territory (I think after the missed FG), Jefferson took a big sack on 1st down, and we ran the option to Scott for like 3 yards on 2nd and 20. At that point, it was clear to me that the coaching staff wasn't interested in winning the game as much as not getting blown out.

Add to that kicking a field goal on 4th and goal from the one pube line.

I just don't see it around the country in other stadiums

Are you sure about this?

Auburn fans left early in the game last year. Tennessee fans left early in the SEC Championship game.

That's bullshite that other fanbases don't do it. The grass is always greener on the other side.

at least with most people wearing gold it wasn't real clear they were gone on tv. The gold seats looked like people wearing gold.
Hurray for the gold out!

Fans around the country leave when the game is decided... that's not being disputed.

Again, my curiousity was about leaving with decent time on the clock, and the possibility of the ball game still being up for grabs, although it was very slim even with 5 minutes was left.

I completely understand people leaving when the game is decided and a team is kneeling on the ball with 2 minutes to play.

As for other stadiums, I'm sure it happens. And obviously I don't make all of them. But I saw a pretty much packed house in Mizzou, in a downpour, up 9-0 I believe at half, and most stayed. Hell, we were up 7 against Vandy and the team came out of the locker room to 70k fans.

I stayed until the end but I don't blame fans for leaving with 5 minutes to go. LSU wasn't going to score any more points in that game unless it came from a turnover or special teams play.
The game was over before it started.

I hear the exact complaints being made up here in Knoxville after every Vol home game. Vol fans calling in and complaining about other fans leaving early. I'm sure Georgia fans are bitching about the same thing.

It was a very long 1. Just sayin'. Had Scott picked up anything on 3rd down, LM was going for it. Didn't happen.

As a matter of fact, I think the people who sold their tickets for this game to make a quick buck are worse than those who left with 5 minutes left.

Jealous that you didn't get paid good money to sit at home and turn the tv off when you had seen enough?

And if LSU doesn't get the td, Florida is taking the snap basically in the endzone. I never agreed with the field goal. In a high profile game like that, you take your chances and go for the td.
