Is because he did a horrendous job with covering his tracks.
We all know these kids have been getting paid and getting impermissible benefits. It won't stop. NIL has made it even worse. Bottom line is that Will Wade went so far as to lead a paper trail DIRECTLY to himself.
Dude couldn't get a bag man to do all this?

I haven't really followed the details of this story but it sounds like he's not afraid to do his own dirty work. I respect him for that if nothing else.

100%. I like Wade, but he was blatant with it. You have to be like 5 people removed from that shite. Not sure if he was just careless or arrogant, but he’s only got himself to blame for this.

Honestly... I think he was paying the VCU players girlfriend like was said earlier. I think he was being blackmailed. And I also do not think that he wanted to involve anyone else. Bad enough it was going on. Probably did not want to pull anyone else into it. Now was he dumb... extremely. But I mean dude was spending his own money. Says alot about a guy when he has to do that and says alot about the school that he is willing to do that.

It doesn't change the fact that Wade could've at least opened a Walmart prepaid card or even use a burner phone. Dude thought he was untouchable.

You say that, but dude could have seriously been in a bind. I think he did it like he did out of desperation. There is no other excuse for someone like him doing what he does for a living to just let it go down like that. I am pretty sure he has done it other ways while at LSU. Which makes me think dude was desperate. It screams desperation. Now it does not make it right. He was idiotic. Plain and simple.

It’s how the other coaches have gotten away with it. Their bag man took the fall, not them. Will Wade was just a little too inexperienced and it cost him his job and maybe career.

In college recruiting this is the exact opposite of what you want. The head coach is supposed to have deniability even tho we all know they know exactly what’s going on.
