False. On a balk from third in other situations, you never just walk straight to the dugout. If you did, you’d be called out every time.

They didn’t decide out of thin air to review it… must have been challenged from somewhere

There is an exception where a batter may step out of the batter’s box: A defensive player attempts a play on a runner at ANY base.

Exactly. The technicalities didn’t matter at that point. We all know what was supposed to happen. This was an equivalent to a coach dropping a red flag on the field in football.

However you want to name or argue the semantics over the situation is fine. But to continue to argue to cover your your stupidity for not understanding that what happened is the exact definition of a challenge is tiresome.

By all means, let them continue beating the dead horse. No one cares 12-11. Ship!

Your still touch the plate. And when the little bastard was tagged out .....he didn't know there would be a debate between the Umps .....

I would kick your butt for not touching .....

KARMA. That's the result of this game. If umps were trying to help USCE then Karma raised its head to cut them off.

The USC coach put a little bug in the umpires’ ears and then they convened.

I really wish we had a way to get audio of that discussion to know what was said to know if any frickery happened.

if USCe coach simply asked IF he stepped on the plate and ump says yes, then that's not challenging what happened, just how the rule is written.

but if USCe asked if he stepped on the plate and ump said "I'm not sure, let me see what the others saw", then to me, that's challenging what happened.
