oh. only 102.

how many points did they score?
oh. only 16.

how many turnovers did they have?
oh. two interceptions.

The point was, those were good numbers passing. Seems we could have had similar results if needed. We have superior o-line, receivers and a decent QB.

actually not really. that was a spread offense. short passes. not throwing downfield. and it cost them. to the tune of two picks and i think 14 points.

so just chill man. LSU won. they dominated. penalties and first game kinks on the road.

they always say the greatest improvement is between game one and two. that's when real corrections can be made.

Get over the past and using as an excuse for really poor philosophy that literally puts us at a 50/50 chance to win the game late when we shouldn't ever even be in that situation.

It's frustrating. We don't need to settle for less, just because the past was so bad. LSU has been very relevant for quite some time and there's no reason they shouldn't be a better program based off of the amount of talent they receive.

YOU GET OVER THE PAST THAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT EVERY SINGLE LSU TEAM IS THE EXACT SAME TEAM INSTEAD OF A LIVING BREATHING CHANGING THING BASED ON A MULTITUDE OF PLAYERS COACHES OPPONENTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES

I'm with ya karma. Last night, the rant was terrible. And what I read so far today, and seeing the upvotes and downvotes in some of the posts that I have read, it appears that the haters haven't gone to bed yet.

shite, it was the first game of the season, in a loud and hostile venue. If Miles would have had Harris throw seven or eight more passes, which would have taken away some of Fournette's carries, a lot of these knuckleheads would be complaining because Fournette wasn't given the ball enough.

Give Harris a chance to get comfortable and clean up the penalties and I believe everything will be fine.

Yeah maybe we should start sucking again so we can appreciate wins more.

Thanks for the effort but there's nothing wrong with wanting to be great. You know there was a time before those bad 90's years when we were. We didn't start playing football in 91. It's like telling Alabama fans to appreciate what they have because Mike Shula used to be the coach. LSU is held to high standards. THAT Is the norm. Deal with it.

11/23/07 Loss @ home against UNRANKED R-kansas

07... the year we won a National Championship. Great team... and not all great teams win every game... and not every win by great teams is by 50 points.

Can you really honestly say you ENJOYED the 4th qtr of last night's game? If you weren't an absolute mess you are not a true fan.

what fun would sports be if LSU killed every opponent?

It'd be a blast. The '03 Auburn game and 2013 A&M game were some of the most enjoyable games I've ever watched.

LSU would've killed them, you would've started getting drunk or changed the channel or talking more with your friends etc.

This is so wrong it's almost offensive. You clearly have no idea what it means to be a diehard fan. This "we should just be happy to be here" garbage is absolute horseshite and you know it. Turn in your fan card now.

I'm not complaining about the game last night like many on here. I actually thought it was a great win and I can't wait to see us build off of it. I just think the whole "we should be satisfied with 8-4 or 9-3 because we used to be bad in the 90's" argument is completely backwards.

And you can't tell me you weren't crushed after that loss and thought to yourself, "we're better than that."

Absolutely I was crushed... but only because we LOST that game.

les has his braindead moments. he's also done some outstanding coaches and made calls that no other coach in america would've made. let's see how this team plays out. last year was last year. i saw enough of this team to think they have a shot. which is all you can ask for at this point.

This I can actually agree with. I'm excited to see this team evolve. Last year as the season went on the coaches learned what kind of team they had and what they do well and they coached to those strengths (see Ole Miss). I think they'll do the same this year.

Of course. The OP, however, makes it seem like after a loss like that he'd wonder why the hell everyone was so upset...because "hey, we got to enjoy a close game, and there was a time we weren't good enough to get THIS far." That's what I find silly.

We are tired of destroying teams early then going in to full blown scared shitless turtle mode and letting our opponents come back and have a chance to win.

State should never have been in that game last night.

We weren't good 25 years ago we were rotten garbage.

I find it silly you expect other people to forget that and expect a top 5 ranking every year.

You missed my point. Yes...we were bad then. But just a few years prior we were competing for SEC championships (won a share of it in 88) and throughout history we've been regarded as a very good, successful program. Being a top tier team is nothing brand new to LSU. Who cares if we forget that unfortunate era because, historically, that's not our identity.
