Hah...forgot to hit FIFY!!

Thank Goodness Hawthorne is gone. No knowledge of the game today and it is not a mistake. He had none when he started in 1983!

Call of the Florida upset game

For all the shite JH gets for messing up, your boy fricks up the last play on his teams biggest victory.

Everybody makes mistakes, and I'll gladly give Blair a fair listening, but ever since I was born, JH's voice HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE LSU SPORTS.

I like that he has no ties to the program. Everything he sees and does will come from a real excitement of seeing things for the first time. This was a great move! NOBODY connected to LSU radio could fill this job....not even moosh mouth hanny....eat another meatball gordy....nasal patrick or helium kent

Chris Blair is gonna be great. Have you heard his sample clips? He paints a vivid picture with his call and is quick and spot on. He'll be bleeding purple and gold soon and we will all love him.

I like Jim and all but man...he can get bad.

First time I noticed it was listening to baseball my freshman year. "Hard hit ball THIS COULD CARRY!!!! CAUGHT by the shortstop....pardon me second baseman."

Frick this guy. This is Louisiana football. We needed someone who understands what that means. This guy has never even been to a game. Like somebody else said, any historical reference he makes will be fake as fvck because he just read about it 2 weeks ago.

I also this that people that bitch about JH probably didn't grow up as a kid listening to him call LSU games. I'm thinking that these people are realitivly new tiger fans. He is the only voice of LSU that I've known. So what if the guy gets a little too excited and makes a mistake from time to time. The hard core true excitement is what I love about JH.

Calling a game at this level is harder than people in this thread are giving credit. It is a craft. They hired the best qualified guy for the job.

I live near Memphis and tune in regularly on Saturday nights because TV is not always an option. Check my posts...I am about as positive and realistic as can be about LSU sports. BUT Jim is bad, really bad. I want someone that calls a good game and let's me know what's going on.

Against Florida I heard this on 3rd and long...."pass to (can't remember name) and he's off to the races and tackled short of the first down. Ref signals first down. ". I went from thinking our defense gave up the 1st to making the stop to not making the stop.

Give me the best guy. If that person is a louisiana native great but it is down the list.

I have been listening to Jim sick he first started calling games...I always enjoy listening to him and think he has performed well as "the voice of the tigers." Any of us would make mistakes calling a live game, so I am not throwing stones. I have smiled a few times when I heard "swing and a miss for a called third strike."
