Can we go one season without having to listen to the Gameday crew talk about dissension in the ranks of the LSU coaching staff?

LSU has suffered p.r. disaster after p.r. disaster, for the last five years or so, and has consistently failed to communicate its side of the story, time after time.
And yet, we see no changes in who does the communicating.
LSU does not take its image seriously. It lets others define our image. This is a University-wide problem. Not just athletics.

And this is really the heart of the problem for me.
This could have been controlled but it became a big public story. If it’s not the SID, or the AD, then the HC should be picking up the slack (or his mouthpiece).

You noticed that ESPN never got into the details of exactly what's happening. Nobody has a clue about the truth. These rumors are running rampant.

That's the problem. The ones with the truth (LSU) do nothing but let these things fester. A school with a media savvy athletic department either contains or gets out in front of the story quickly if the rumors start to leak.

Exactly. You should always tell you own story, not let someone else tell it. The fact that LSU (apparently) never hired an experienced PR firm after the media debacles in 2015 is ludicrous.

This is actually a very insightful observation; agree totally.
The AD/HC are about as poor of a face you can put on athletics for a program that not too many years ago was a top tier program and top job in football. The addition recently of the governor will do nothing but add to the misery. Someone needs to cut and renew before we lose everything built over the past 17 years.

I agree "institutionally" but the constant whining on these boards does not help either.
The news media uses and expands on that info...
agitation increases audience which increases advertising rates....and profits
MANY claim to be fans but can not wait to be "proven" right in their views, even if it hurts LSU
