I totally agree, in fact I think we win a BCS game at the least but I see a championship, fwiw.

Disagree.

Even so, the point is people still calling for Les' head just don't have a clue what might/will/could happen if we are forced to find a new head coach but I'm certain it will not be what they think...

Woa chief, what's the name calling for?

You were pretty definitive in your response so I just asked what made you so certain, no need for the a-bombs...

I have heard that Muschamp would jump to LSU after this season if LSU were to somehow have an opening and we threw a lot of money at him...

This whole scenario hinges Jerry Jones being willing to give over control of the team to the new head coach. Not going to happen, Wade may get the ax but he will be replaced with someone else who is controllable as him and Jones will bring the best Coordinators he can find to manage play calling

No offense but I've heard that from UGA folks and Auburn boards were lighting up with the same rumor last year.

Maybe he would, and frankly I like Will but how do we know he would be a great HC?

Of all the ‘sure fire hits’ out there this is the only one that remotely makes since, IMHO but it is FAR from a lock!

Except Florida and Georgia are far from "ALL TIME ELITE", Saban ain't goin nowhere, Jo Pa will retire when he's dead, and no way Urban leaves after a subpar year immediately following Tebow's exit..

So, can LSU compete with, possibly UGA for a head coach? I do believe so, and am hoping Chris Peterson is as tired of going undefeated and not competing for a title as I imagine..

You realize the athletic department/TAF pays Miles, not the state.

Corch, you're safe for this season. At ease.

But... ... of course if you were to go.

I'd expect calls given to Mike Stoops, Skip Holtz, Gary Patterson, Muschamp, and Kyle Whittingham from the word go.

I think we could strike gold and persuade one of those candidates to come to LSU; i.e. reasonable coaching candidates.

If Miles leaves LSU after this season, LSU will go after Muschamp, Tubberville, or Del Rio...but Miles isn't leaving unless our team stinks it up big time or Michigan has an opening (and both are seeming unlikely at this point).

Although we would likely lose the Chief, I take Pelini first out of that group. Failing that, I like Harbaugh, retaining the Chief, Gonzo, Frank Wilson, and maybe the bulk of the defensive staff. Muschamp over Peterson. Those are four good candidates, however. UGA will give us a run for Muschamp, if we get to that. Bama probably gets Harbaugh if they want him. Pelini would likely only consider leaving Nebraska for tOSU, Penn State or LSU.

(None of that will help if recruiting dies after Miles leaves...)

LSU would throw a lot of money at a guy who has never been a HC?

Wouldn't Will more than likely end up at Ga unless they right that ship pretty quick?

So you think state politics have no bearing on a state university?

Dallas would hire Jason Garrett before they hire Nick Saban....

Saban is not "the shite" when it comes to coaching in the pros.....

The thinking is that at LSU, there is no other Div 1 schools in LA to compete with for in-state recruits. Plus, he coached here for four years.

Still, I don't see Miles leaving any time soon...

Agree with those who say Saban will retire at Alabama.

He's tried the NFL and hated it.
He is the King of Alabama.
He'll probably win 4 NC's in the next 10 years there (which makes me want to )!
No other school in the nation will be able to pay what he's getting at Bama.

Sorry folks. He was ours and now he's gone. Bama got him and will be adding crystal to the trophy case.
