I’d be happy with Godwin. Not only is he a fantastic recruiter who would absolutely kill it with our resources and facilities, he’s probably the best hitting coach we’ve had in 20 years, and on top of it all, he’s probably the greatest person in college baseball.

I can only assume that you are Mrs. Godwin with that recommendation.

Seriously, if Vitelli and McDonnel said no, then Godwin is the next man up. Make it happen.

Godwin going to leave his Alma mater?

Godwin's coached here. He understands the expectations. It could attract him back, or drive him away. Same is true with Bianco.

want McDonald or Godwin. The most underwhelming hire would be Bianco. Either McDonald or Godwin would be good hires! IMO

The old McDonald? Or a new one, because old McDonald would be a terrible hire.

Vitello/McDonnell and then Godwin...but I’m coming around on Godwin too.

I can't believe that people are pushing Canizarro's name out there. THis idiot was calling his side piece from the dugout during games. His reputation at LSU is dirt, it will never be him.

I’m not, but I know several guys that have played for him and more that were recruited by him. When they all say the same thing despite not knowing each other, you pay attention. All those guys at D1 baseball will tell you the same thing.

Does the new LSU president have input on the hire?

Chris Godwin isn’t taking the pay cut from his current job to go coach at LSU

Have you ever been to Greenville, NC ? It's like Funroe without the beach 2 hrs away.

Chris Godwin has probably never been to Greenville either

I still think the best fit for this program and this fan base is Andy Cannazzaro

Did y’all just forget the way he left LSU? If he was such a good coach he wouldn’t still be at Holy Cross.

Nobody liked my post at 5:38am. I guess I don't blame you. Schloss likely would have taken the LSU job had Woody not pursued Sully.

What about the less of a budget than A&M comment ? What’s that about ?

I believe Woody is working with a budget for head coach in the $1.6M to $1.9M range.

We simply didn't have the luxury of spending that much. It's just factual that you have invested in your baseball program more than we have... and you have been more successful.

So, I haven't seen the numbers yet, but am assuming we will pay Schloss in the $1.0M to $1.2M range with an investment to Bluebell Park and large salaries for assistants.

I have heard CPM isn’t a huge fan and he is also very involved in the coaching search.

Never listen to the guy going out, Smoke Lavall is a perfect example!
