did anybody care enough about Hatch to even bother hating him?

Old Timers will remember Carl Otis Trimble in the early 70s, who was hated for his skin tone
And also because he sucked.

Jamie Howard?
Easily him.

--Yep, but Carl Otis didn't have the latter quality. All that to say LSU fans have come a long way, and yay to that.

It is Booty in my book -
1. My committing to LSU and leaving for MLB, he prevented some top QB recruits from coming to LSU
2. His 1999 season was abysmal going 2-8 as a starter and having 7 TDs and 19 ints
3. His arrogance cost LSU games against Bama and UAB
4. Most importantly, he kept Rohan Davey off the field
5. When Rohan showed that he was the better player, Booty ran to the NFL. At least Lee hasn't transferred and has showed loyalty to LSU even when it looked like he would always be a backup

People hate JJ so much they won't even nominate him.

That year Southern had a white starting QB. It was sheer madness.

Josh Booty by far in my lifetime.

Herb Tyler was not the starting QB in the 1970s---Carl Otis Trimble was.

the starting qb? not just lee. every year its the same.

I thought Herb was the first black full time starter?

Ah---now that's different
Carl Otis was part of Cholly Mac's usual 2 (or 3) QB system. Mac tried the Veer offense with Carl Otis as a RB-turned-QB. Didn't work well, the Veer that is.
Somehow I've never forgotten the LSU scoreboard flashing,"You'll Notice Carl Otis". Haven't forgotten the # of LSU fans screaming racial slurs (you can guess) at C.O. when he went behind center.

I don't hate RP really. I mean he screwed us and left us with this QB mess the last few years, but we never would have won the 2007 title without him. He was vital part of the offense the first half of that season and we never would have beat Tenn in the NC game without him.

Yeah, I just think RP is a dumbass.

What!! Lee is doing a great job this year so far!
What would anyone want him to do that he hasn't done?
I am very glad he stayed at LSU. At least we have two QB's we feel good about. If he gets hurt, or God forbid injured, at least now we know we have Mett to step in. I hope Lee plays the whole season & wins the Championship in the Dome!
BTW, Lee, thanks for staying at LSU. A lot of players would have quit or transferred after your 1st season. That says about the kind of man you are (not to be afraid to accept the challenge & give up). Now you are a senior, confident, & are reading defenses very well. Besides, LSU has talented players that would make other schools drool, so Lee won't feel like he has to force anything. Now if you can just stop throwing the ball off your back foot...oh well nevermind
