The amount of people saying how Jay isn't a championship coach or he can't lead a team to Omaha is crazy. We were half a game out of first place in the toughest conference in baseball. How about waiting until after the season is over to make judgements on if Jay did a good or bad coaching job? If he loses in the regional, then yes that's an issue, but people are melting before the regionals even start has the team looked great recently? Sometimes yes, sometimes no but a lot of Jay's decisions have been finding who he can trust when it matters. The next 2 weeks will be telling

Why didn’t we win the toughest conference in baseball? Who in this conference had a better roster than us?

3 of our 5 best pitchers being in arm braces has a lot to do with it.

Having the best roster doesn’t help if the best talent on it isn’t available.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have won the regular season. With the roster we have and the schedule at the back end, we should have won it but for people to freak out that we didn't win the regular season is crazy. The back to back series losses were bad but to freak out when the season isn't even over is ridiculous. Like I said, if we lose out in the regionals or even supers, then we might have some problems

Funny game indeed. Lots of ifs and buts to go around. People just need to stop deflecting and start accepting that these kids and coaches are fallible. This is a VERY VERY DIFFICULT game to play and coach. The best rosters often do not win and that includes a lot of Skip’s teams. The 1989 team had the Golden Spikes award winner and 5 other pitchers that pitched in the MLB. Why didn’t that team blow everyone out? He definitely screwed that up by wearing McDonald out with 150+ pitches a game and then making him relieve 2 days later.

The "melt" is that this team ha SO much potential and they've underperformed the past few weeks.

Hopefully everything comes together, next week BUT our issues are glaring.

Pitching was a bright spot this past week

You’re going to get down voted by the retards on here but you’re right. Pitching injuries have done us in this year. It is what it is

Now go research Arkansas’ injury situation this season.

I like how people think a roster that has to start Cade beloso is light years ahead of what Florida, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas have been recruiting years before maineri decided he couldn’t get it done.

At first I scoffed at the secr but some of you think this roster really is a generational group.

Zero doubt in my mind we will never have a skenes-crews combo but WAY better rosters top to bottom-especially healthy rosters.

CJJ has already taken two teams to Omaha including a team all the way to the champ series.

Who in this conference lost 2-3 starting quality pitchers to injury and still almost won it??? Dumb statement there my friend.

A MLB scout told Ell13 this is the most talented college roster he’s ever seen.

Did we lose a couple of pitchers, sure. So has every SEC team. Did we lose anyone in the batting lineup, no. (Well, Dugas isn’t 100% so I’ll concede that).

If we get bounced early I hope you never post again

You’re busy criticizing people who are trying to be realistic only to protect yourself by stating

If he loses in the regional, then yes that's an issue

Quit playing both sides of the fence and mean what you say and own what you say positiger

Sadly, you have to post this

I understand people are upset but Jay will have this team in Omaha soon. Hell, he may have them there in 3 weeks. If they don't make then criticism is warranted.

He's going to fix the pitching situation in the portal. Bad luck with injuries plus Little and Hurd struggling.

Okay, and we’re a national seed still?

By the way, who fricking cares what one random mlb scout had to say about the team? Vanderbilt has signed recruiting classes like we finally did last year for nearly a decade, and a lineup that has to lean on athletic juggernauts like beloso and dugas indicates an all time great lineup?

I made my position very clear. Not playing both sides of the fence. My point is that people are acting like the season is over already, and I was saying that if we do lose out early, then yes Jay should be questioned but that the season isn't over yet and let's let it play out before saying stuff like "Jay Johnson doesn't appear to be a championship level coach"

Reserving judgment until it’s appropriate isn’t playing both sides, you stupid fricking idiot.
