I seriously doubt that we actually play the game at this point.

No team with a losing record should be playing in a bowl.

You are out of touch with current trends. Players need to worry about themselves only; their teammates do not count. You are also representing LSU; that doesn't mean anything to today's enlightened athletes. Any time you put on a jersey you should compete as well as you can. Perhaps fans should be able to decide what players need to get the boot, because they aren't good enough to play. I did not have the talent to play at LSU, but I would have paid LSU for the privilege to get on the field. To hell with NIL, NFLSU, opt outs ,phantom injuries, business decisions, etc.

The only “meaning” to young men running around on grass and bumping in to each other is the entertainment value and the knowledge that these people have worked very hard and are representing our school. As a fan, I will be entertained while rooting for these kids. The prestige of (hopefully) winning this trophy is diminished but I’ll root for the LSU swim team, chess team, debate team or even a 0-10 football team as long as they’re trying and having fun

This thread is why CFB will die off. A large group of fans are saying if your team loses 2 games why even play the rest of the season. If fans stop watching based off the above TV revenues will start to decrease and the money will dry up. It’s a new generation with players and fans unfortunately.

Are they in the playoff ?
No.
That’s all that matters. If that wasn’t true, opting out would not be a reality.
Once a team loses twice the season is meaningless.

LSU won a natti with 2 losses? Don't see your point.

For all those expressing support for players opting out of a “meaningless” bowl game, would you have been supportive of Damone Clark opting out after the Auburn or Kentucky losses after LSU’s chances for a championship of any kind were effectively eliminated? What made the second half of the regular season any more “meaningful”?
