Saban could beat off on the 50 yard line and no one would care.

He’s definitely never been an X’s and O’s Coach.

Then O decided to punt instead of trying a 57 yard FG with his All-American kicker.

Zero issue with him punting there. There aren't a lot of NFL kickers who can consistently hit 55 plus.

when he challenged an opposing fan to a fight?

We were there with Sumlin. He just caught lightning in a bottle with Manziel and Evans. Really much like O with Burrow. Its amazing how much money coaches make on the back of generational talent. Look where Cliff Kingsbury is today.

Orgeron constantly has 2-3 people in his ear on the sideline.

And one of them is Ponamsky.

Dabo was able to do it. But he has had Venables. Had Orgeron been able to keep Aranda in the same role, this could have worked out for him.

This. Aranda was also assistant head coach, doing a lot of the day to day running of the program. He also added a deep understanding of Xs & Os and the nuances of defense which paired with O’s rah rah stuff worked well. Dave was the brains of the operation and O can’t stand on his own without a guy like that on staff to do the heavy lifting

I always question the CEO type HCs. At the end of the day, what are you bringing to the table?
idk, what does Dabo bring to the table. appears none of you understand he was hired for the exact same reason O was hire; great recruiter.

Venebles is a legit DC. Dabo doesn't have to concern himself with 1/3 of the game.

I think it’s the fact he was never a coordinator himself and hired two guys who have never been coordinators to be his coordinators for this season…

Bewildering

Why not retain Ensminger and manage it the way we did in 2019

And who do you think Aleva would have hired? He failed with both attempts and settled on Ed

Not saying it’s right or wrong but based on previous kick he had plenty leg to get it done.

So true Aranda was always that calm, reassuring voice to talk everyone off the ledge, let alone be the smartest guy in the room. Every game or damn near it, our second or his second half adjustments were on point. He didn’t have the flash and blitz heavy D but he damn sure got the job done 90% of the time.

He’s a recruiter that has coached a little defensive line. I can’t believe anyone thought this would work out any other way.

He was the best recruiter during the Carroll days at USC and recruited stud D-linemen and coached them...that was his role.

When he got the Ole Miss job, that was just a case of everyone hiring anybody that was on Carroll's USC staff. Kiffen, Sark, Chow, Ed O, etc.

Then he clung to Kiffen and followed him around on his staff from UT back to USC.

Then another SEC school hires him as HC and the rest is history.
