The location of the student section in the PMAC for basketball is killing the environment.

What year did the administration decide to move the students behind the goal? Dumass move.
When I was a student we had sections 103, 104, 204 and 205 plus a few more sections.

Yeah it’s retarded u can’t even see the team when it’s on the other side of the court the goal is in the way

The brilliant Joesph Louis Alleva. Did his best to destroy LSU basketball but the General Wade stood like a stonewall

Has to be one of the worst locations in all of college basketball

I don't even know if these students would show up with better seating. Their attendance fricking sucked dick today. And it has for 2 years on this remarkable Will Wade run. frick em

I was in the front row when we were on the sideline. We always wanted the baseline with the opponent shooting my way in the second half, and now they have it, and people are complaining.
It’s great where it is. Students going wild in the background of an opponent’s free throw is a great tv shot.

There’s been games where like 10 students show up, literally.
They belong behind the goal.

Most schools have their students behind a basket. They quit showing up and giving a frick when it was on the sides so they got it taken

If I may shamefully hijack this thread because of the freshness, does anyone know if Bob Petit still attends the games?

Look, the seats they have aren’t ideal, but that’s no excuse for them to be so apathetic at games. Half the students in the lower section were sitting down today. Why? Is it considered uncool to stand at a basketball game and have fun?
They should rearrange the student section for sure, but don’t let that fool you. They still give zero effort during games.

quote:Another good reason. If students don’t show up, it’s not prime sideline seats that people will pay for. I think the students like it there, and I think even the nay-sayers like it more than they know it.

Exactly
Arizona St is a perfect example. Plenty of schools have students behind the goal. They don’t seem to have a problem with it.

They did get played by Hinson when he fouled out, though. He sat down right when Watford cocked his free throw, and the students all yelled SIT DOWN right when TW shot a brick. Good job students

This is amazing to me. We used to camp out for tickets rotating on 2-4 hour shifts with friends on a first come first serve basis. But that was during the Chris Jackson then Shaq days.

This was the location during Brady's tenure and it was hardly a madhouse in there. PMAC hasn't been the same since the early 90s, student section seating is an easy scapegoat.

Lolololol at everyone blaming the students. Want the PMAC to be loud? Yell. Quit blaming other people. Pretty ironic how everyone bitches about how young kids these days need to take responsibility for themselves and such.
“Oh but we can’t yell because the students didn’t start it!!!”

Pretty sure it was 2010. A few dumbass students at the time petitioned to have it moved.

What is it then? Just a fall off of interest in college basketball?
