Can anyone on this board name a player off that team?
Anyway, I had to move Mizzou down in my poll. I'm officially on the fence about their defense, but at the same time, who knows if Illinois offense will be pretty good this year. Hard to tell.
I will NOT move USC up just because they played a terrible BCS team. I just don't see how anyone can justify that. You're actually punishing other teams that have dropped for playing a weaker team in their first week. I can't do it.

a bowl team from a BCS conference (the worst, but still) who is talented (just has crap coaching)
compared to a non-BCS team or a 1-AA team (or a shitty 1-AA team in OU's case), it's significant

They dropped one spot in favor of LSU in mine. I dropped WVU a couple of spots because I'm not really sold on them.

I have Cincinnati at 24th. I also have USC at #1.
And USC played a BCS team on the road, travelling cross country to do so. Is Virginia any good? Not really, but they are better than almost anyone else in the top ten played (except Mizzou).

That's a given. But like I said, I can't punish a team for having a weaker opponent. Virginia is not good enough for me to take that into consideration.

Arizona beat Idaho by 70. They looked pretty impressive. They didn't get any #1 votes.
Florida beat Hawaii by 46, that's pretty impressive.
Heck, I think that LSU's win over App St. is more impressive than USC beating Virginia.
You obviously have your opinion and can vote like you choose. But, I'm just surprised that so many people who hate on the media's infatuation with USC perpetuate the stereotype that they are the best team in the land.
I'm just surprised, that is all.
I actually feel like Oklahoma is the best team this year. They return the league's highest rated passer who was a freshman last year. And, there defense and running game will once again be very good.
USC has a new, unproven quarterback, a good defense, and most likely a great running game that is also unproven.
So...
USC
QB - unproven
RB - unproven
D - proven, very good
Oklahoma
QB - proven
RB - proven
D - proven, very good
BTW, I had USC #3 behind Oklahoma and Florida.
