He accused LSU of covering up rape
Again, that doesn’t mean he wants LSU to get the death penalty. It’s not hard to read a post.

I’ve seen evidence from police shooting and other similar situations. Sometimes release by police sometimes the victim.
And the release is typically made by the party who thinks it benefits them. In previous cases too numerous to count, a party (usually the victim complaining their rights were violated) is constantly in the news complaining loudly that the video hasn’t been released. I just think it’s telling that such isn’t happening here. It suggests to me the victims don’t won’t it made public.

Moore's attorney has no control over when law enforcement releases the footage. It took three months to release the George Floyd body cam video, and that was in a huge nationally scrutinized case.
That took months because the video showed a crack pipe being removed from Floyd, Floyd dropping a bag of drugs on the concrete, Floyd acting high and erratic and yelling he couldn't breathe before and while they put him in the cruiser, Floyd demanding to get out and lay on the ground, the diverse cops - black, white, hispanic, and asian - all not really putting any pressure on Floyd (looks totally different from body cam angle), and Floyd OD'ing from lethal amounts of Fentanyl in his system (among multiple other hard drugs) after admitting he was hooping (drugs stuck up his arse).
Simply, the bodycam footage from the 4 cops destroyed the narrative that was being used very politically by the media and left to start a race war and distract from the Obamagate bombs that should have been going off. Instead we got a 24/7 dose of defund the police, everyone is systematically racist, and that a black, white, hispanic, and asian cop killed Floyd because they were racist.
Nevermind they were very professional and courteous to him, nevermind they put him in the cruiser and he resisted, acted erratic, and demanded to lie down on the road because he was so fricking high he was OD'ing. Nevermind the toxicology that got buried, nevermind the transcript of the body cams that leaked out before the very left Minnesota AG finally released the footage.
They purposefully held that footage because it was serving a very political purpose, and releasing it would have destroyed a narrative they desperately needed.

I’ve read where their attorney wants the video public.

I don’t think you even know what you’re arguing here

Perhaps. Or perhaps you lack the ability to reason deductively

How about this... let's wait. Review the video when it is released. Then pass judgement.
Think we all can agree harassment, racism, and police brutality is unacceptable. This needs to be eradicated and dealt with harshly. It should not be enabled or tolerated.
We also can agree that most police officers are heroes and they risk thier lives to protect ours. They deserve our support and respect. This can be done in many ways. Waving at police when they drive by, Buying them a snack or sandwhich when you have the opportunity.
Some people can do both. I have both protested police brutality and bought a liscense plate that supports the police memorial fund in my state.

The news doesn’t care but they have asked for it to be made public in the news.
But the kid is alive. So they aren’t exactly getting 24/7 coverage

The reality is that if the video supported the victims’ complaints, it would have been made public by now, And if the BRPD was withholding it as some have suggested, BLM, the New Black Panthers, the NAACP the victims and their supporters, Al Sharpton and a host of others would be on TV loudly protesting.

100% true. His lawyer can claim he “wants the footage released” but he doesn’t. If Moore was truly innocent this is exactly what would happen.

quote:black mayor and police chief? Are freaking serious? The poster that mentioned he didn’t want it released is dead on from what I heard as well.
The BRPD is the one who is not releasing the body cam footage. I imagine we'll get some edited tape released that doesn't show the whole confrontation.

You’ve got to be fricking kidding me? While I don’t agree with OP’s possible conspiracy theory, How can you honestly say the news doesn’t care?! The news loves stories like these, we hear about these gentle, hardworking, honest victims of police brutality constantly on tv. How did you not laugh your arse off typing this? There’s no way you’re this dumb and actually believe this, I hope this is sarcasm.

If true, it would be the first time in several years that the media hasn’t made an issue of racial injustice, and rightly so.

BRPD refuses to release copies of that footage to the public. There is a “critical incident” policy used by the department to release body camera footage of controversial and violent interactions in the past, but BRPD officials maintain this incident falls outside the scope of that policy.

I never said he “wanted LSU to get the death penalty”. What I said was, “you believe that they should” since anyone with any morals whatsoever would find that a fitting punishment for COVERING UP RAPE.
It’s like some of you have zero reading comprehension skills.

So do you think the knee on the neck was NECESSARY to control a handcuff, high, laying on the ground person or do you think it was EXCESSIVE?

More than adequate time to review the video, if there was a genuine desire to make it public.
b) It is against the law (or at least the code of professional conduct) for Moore's attorney to mske it public.
c) There is a TON of red tape to jump through with unions and stuff before it can be made public.

Bull! The footage is subject to the state's Open Records Act and must be turned over upon filing and open records request. Several years ago as a reporter, I filed an open records request with the local sherriff's office for body cam video and they turned over an edited version. I then requested the video from the county commissioners and they furnished the original which clearly showed the Sheriff edited the tape. I reported that to the state attorney general and the sheriff was in big trouble.
