Spain is actually receding from their golden generation and there is not a huge amount of youth coming through at present.
Argentina, like Manu's hairline, has well and truly receded from their glory days though they do have one future NBA prospect.
Most Europeans prefer to gain their experience in Europe these days and jump straight to the NBA if they are rated. The standard of the Euro league is far far above that of the SEC

I suspect that the real answer is that the players have turned on their coach because the fans have. The players read the comments here. Support the coach, and the players will support the coach.

The crazy thing is his win percentage here is actually higher than it was at North Texas. He's literally exceeding expectations.
I'm probably the contrarian here but we lost a lot of NBA talent the last couple years between Martin/Mickey/Hornsby/Quarterman/Simmons and so I think the dip was expected but nobody saw it coming as this bad. I'd like to see if he can right the ship just from a pure curiosity stand point.
I mean think about it. No top flight coach is going to want to come here why we are trending down. It can't get much worse. With that said, if he can get us close to 500% next year trending up.. the job becomes more appealing. Think about it..

When you hire a coach who at the time has .569% win percentage, you expect him to be at or around that mark as he's shown that's the type of coach he is. It's pretty rare a just over .500 coach goes somewhere and does significantly better.
Johnny Jones at LSU is .597%. His LSU career has been better than I expected. Despite this season, he's on pace to be better.
edit.. the problem is we hired a coach whos expectations on him are currently higher than he's ever shown to be capable of matching. But, since he's exceeding his own production that landed him this job.. it's not right to fire him.

Try again brobeans. Thats not including the last two losses. By the end of this season he will probably be below his NT numbers. At the end of this seasons is conference record will be below that of his NT tenure.

How? He pats the schedule with a bunch of cupcakes which he couldnt do at NT. Even if you want him to match the same win % and tourney appearances as his previous stop, he isnt doing that either.

Again, he isnt. You are just acting like this season isnt counted. And yeah the expectations dont decrease just because he was never qualified for the job. The real world doesnt work like that especially when you are making over a million dollars.
