From what we got outta miles at the end of his career Eddie has been a clear improvement on that. 15-11 last 26 conference games v O will be 16-6 at worse at seasons end. it’s not even close.

Do we look at the strength of the conference during those spans?

The SEC opponents he played in 16 and 17 were absolute garbage, where the conference was much stronger in the 13-15 years that Miles is being judged on.

Also, there’s a small matter of the Troy loss, which kind of negates a 6-2 SEC record in 17 when a Sun Belt loss keeps you out of NY6 contention.

After reading this thread they have Some anti’O’s lurking ready to pounce. 90% Of This fan base expected 6-6 or 8-5 at best now we’re #3 in the country which nobody expected it. These lurkers still want to bring up Miles, these lurkers forget that he started losing to Mississippi State Ole Miss and Arkansas on the regular and refused to update his offense that’s why he’s no longer the coach. They want to bring up the Troy game, well the last two coaches y’all highly praise Saban and Miles they also have a Troy like lost on their resume. I can’t remember a previous team that has been this United and had so much leadership. This Tiger team believes in O and will run through a brick wall for him, so you anti-O’s Need to follow this teams lead and get behind our coach and enjoy the ride. If the players believe in him that’s all you really need to know

We lost at least three SEC games three years in a row. Clear decline. When Eddie loses three one time people will say he has to be fired. Well he didn’t lose three in the conference last year. And he won’t this year either. It’s a clear improvement over miles.

He didn’t lose three in conference, great. How did he do OOC? How did that compare to Miles?

Glad to hear you are guaranteeing he doesn’t lose three this year. Glad A&M is still a gimmie

Well I expected two losses but that’s bc I saw miles have a bunch of three SEC loss seasons on his way out and didn’t think it was likely that O would do worse. You cant find a worse clock management coach than miles. he lost a game a year on that it seemed like didn’t it. Get rid of that and you get two sec losses. Looks like that what we get for both of O first two years doesn’t it. it remains to be seen if he will be able to get good qb play Brennan will make or break Os next three years. Unless he hits a home run and lands a QB that can come in and play very early.

Oh I’m in complete agreement that should be a W.

Would be a pretty inexcusable loss, right?

Inexcusable. of course not. A&M is a top 25 team. On the road. this is the SEC. those guys are paying their coaching staff about 15 million a year too. They have 4 and 5 stars all over the place too. But we will beat them.

Ed will have 4 sec losses in two years. Miles 10 in 3 years. That’s an average of two losses per year for O v 3.3 year for miles. Almost half as few losses per season.

Again.

Miles last full year was 3 losses.
O lost 4 in 1st full year.

This year by week 8 he has more losses than miles had in his last full year at week 8. Nothing youre saying is backed up by facts unless you just leave out losses to support your opinion

I am more focused on SEC GaMes. Than some meaningless exhibition bowl game. miles decline in conference play was utterly embarrassing. To lose 11 conferrence games in his last 26 outings.

The fact that they have a coach in his first year with the team isn't a factor for you?

You mention Miles 15-11 record in his last 26 conference games.

Here's their records and rankings.

2013:
Georgia: 8-5 overall record, 5-3 SEC record, not ranked in final AP poll
Ole Miss: 8-5 overall record, 3-5 SEC record, not ranked in final AP poll
Alabama: 11-2 overall record, 7-1 SEC record, ranked #7 in final AP poll

2014:
Mississippi State: 10-2 overall record, 6-2 SEC record, ranked #11 in final AP poll
Auburn: 8-5 overall record, 4-4 SEC record, ranked #22 in final AP poll
Alabama: 12-2 overall record, 7-1 SEC record, ranked #4 in final AP poll
Arkansas: 7-6 overall record, 2-6 SEC record, not ranked in final AP poll

2015:
Alabama: 14-1 Overall record, 7-1 SEC record, ranked #1 in final AP poll
Ole Miss: 10-3 overall record, 6-2 SEC record, ranked # 10 in final AP poll
Arkansas: 8-5 overall record, 5-3 SEC record, not ranked in final AP poll

2016:
Auburn: 8-5 overall record, 5-3 SEC record, ranked #24 in final AP poll

Four of Miles 11 losses in that time frame were to teams that finished the season not ranked. Four of those losses were to teams that finished the season ranked in the top ten. One loss to a top 15 team, 2 losses to teams that were top 25 teams.

Those 11 losses sucked, but some of you people act like those losses were to scrub teams. Matter of fact, only two losses were to teams with losing SEC records. It was time for Miles to go, but it wasn't as bad as some of you make it out to be

This is such overblown bullshite. If you paid attention to other programs like you did with lsu youd see miles was no worse with clock management than even nfl coaches. Sports illustrated put out an article highlighting the clock mismanagement in the nfl where even belichick was guilty of it. You just remember Miles because its a team you care about. In his entire tenure his clock management may have cost us 2 games.

It is a factor yea. He has a mess to clean up like O did in year one. But in a one game scenario it could be a tough game. Although I imagine we win by 10+.

Yes youve already tried to explain how 4 losses is better than 3 losses as long as you have less conf losses. I your mind finishing with 4 losses and a worse top 25 ranking is better than 3 losses as long as 1 of those 4 losses is to a mid major.
