Looked to me like Claiborne would have had a shot at bringing the receiver down had Hatcher not made a bone headed play.

Seriously Steltz is one of the more overrated safeties I've seen. Everyone harps him up bc of his 4 interception game vs Moo St when they were just bad passes by the QB. My little brother would have picked those off. People forget how vs Kentucky and vs SCar that season he was the one giving up the plays that made us lose and made the game close. Think I'm lying? Go back and watch it. Love him to death tho so don't get me wrong in this post...but his stats in a couple of games over rated his career. Think about it...did we miss a beat in the NC game when he went down and Harry Coleman came in?

Hatcher is not fundamentally sound. Plays out of position a lot.

Steltz was solid his entire career. Loston, in his limited role has also been solid. Out of position a few time like any freshman but you can certainly see the potential. I think he and Reid are two safety stars for the future.

Wow, even all american safeties from LSU are average at best. Do you guys ever stop trashing your own program?

i just saw brandon taylors xray yesterday and the 2 screws in his foot are the whole reason hatcher was playing.

Not trashing my program but I call things like I see them...the best posters on here are those who can look at things with an unbiased eye. I even struggle with this sometimes

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I agree with this. Claiborne had the tackle lined up before being destroyed by Hatcher.

uhhh, they started opposite each other most of the yr. Reid took Taylor's spot after the injury.
