Okay, thanks. I suppose I thought Taylor is younger than he actually is.

Still was a tough, hard nosed player in both college & the pros.

One of my all time favorite players. I remember his playing days in Green Bay. Tough player that gave 100% on every play. He often appeared to purposely run over a tackler rather than avoid one.

I think he was a senior Cannon's freshman year. Freshmen couldn't play on varsity then.

They should have been together in 57, Cannon played 57 -59 and Taylor's last year was 57.

Sent something to him for an autograph a while back. Was told by a lot of Ranters that he would want a check to sign something but he signed it with a very nice personal note and returned it right away. He was and will always be ,one of my favorite Tigers.

Saw him about 5 years ago at the driving range. Even at his age, his calves laugh at Keiland's.

Jim was raised 4 houses from me & was 2 years behind me at Baton Rouge hi. Not only was he a great player but an all around good guy. We saw each other all the time until I went in service to Korea.

Jim's mom lived next door to my husband's family during his pro career. He really is nice man. My husband acquired some old sports magazines where he was featured on the cover. He graciously signed one for our son and the others for two of our neighbors who are big Packer fans. He told my husband he was impressed that he went thru the trouble of finding those old magazines instead of him signing a mini helmet or football. He 's still in great shape for a man of 78!

Great player. His daughter went to elementary school with me. I have an autographed photo of him buried in a box somewhere

Met him in January 1964 in the Los Angeles airport after the Pro Bowl. Gave me his autograph and was very cordial.

Read a book about him and how grueling the conditioning practices were under Lombardi and how Lombardi used to get so mad at him because he could never wear out Taylor. Taylor's secret was that he would run as fast and hard as he could and when Lombardi would call up the team after a run, he would let out one long deep exhale (while other players around him were puking their guts up), and that used to get under Lombardi's skin.

The book also talked about how Lombardi low-balled him his salary because he didn't play both sides of the ball. Taylor had to get another job in the offseason. The NFL was MUCH different back then.

I'm jealous. That's awesome. Should've asked Petit about his 50 point performance in Game 6 of the 1958 NBA Finals.
