All of you calling for Les Miles to be fired, let me ask y'all a simple question... How do y'all know a new HC will automatically come in, install a powerhouse offense, and lead LSU to the Promised Land? Look at Tennessee when Phil Fulmer left. Look at Texas when Mack Brown left. Arkansas after Houston Nutt, USC after Pete Carroll, etc. These teams were solid teams year after year with their established coaches, and when these coaches left, those teams experienced some lean years without the success they were accustomed to.

Don't get me wrong, I'm frustrated like the rest of you. But just remember that LSU has NEVER had a losing season under Les Miles. Every year since he arrived has been a winning season. He has led LSU to a NC and played for a 2nd. How do we know a different head coach will do any better than Les Miles? We don't, and that's what we all need to keep in mind.

Les Miles time as LSU may be drawing to a close, depending on how this season plays out. I'm just saying let's not fall victim to the old "grass is greener on the other side" way of thinking, and to be careful what we wish for.

I'm not asking a new HC to come in and win a natty. I'm asking a new HC to come in and be upredictable enough to the point where I don't know what the first play of the game will be

Its not that I know what the play will be,, its that middle aged women who barely follow football know.

I don't. Nobody does.

At this point, however, I am certain that the offensive limitations Miles' teams have shown prevent them from being a national power ever again.

Are YOU comfortable with LSU spending elite program money and getting upper-middle program results? I suppose that's the real question.

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Yeah, I'm willing to gamble that our next coach may not be able to get us to the Texas Bowl and Music City Bowl on an annual basis for the possibility that a new coach could actually utilize the talent available and make this team a competitor again in the SEC West.

ETA what Miles did 5-12 years ago is irrelevant. Where are you today? He is, at best, a 6-2 and 5-3 team in the SEC West.

MacIntosh, you can't disagree with my Mack Brown comparison. As a Texas fan, you should know what it's like to experience losing seasons after years of success.
