A fact that one would think Landry knew, or at least tried to inform himself about, but the more I experience this guy the more I begin to question his intelligence.

This ain't and has never been about PETA, other than to Landry in his own delusional mind, and apparently a handful of uninformed folks on the Rant!
It's about a Governor grandstanding to have his way, and forcing an awkward ceremony that was received almost as poorly as the lottery halftime fiasco about 2 decades or so back.

B, Huey Long was also a giant crook and used LSU football (among other tactics) largely to distract from this fact. With great success, one must admit. C, Huey Long eventually got shot. So for several reasons, I don't think Huey Long is the greatest precedent to cite here.
