I don’t live there and only care about the university. Here is what you’re not seeing looking from the outside.
It wasn’t Omar. It was a distraction by someone who was wanting attention. The fact is LSU has been fighting PETA among others to keep a live tiger for years and this stunt just pushed it back in the limelight on national TV. Lucky it rained because the PETA force would have used it as an opportunity to protest.
LSU has had enough negativity with Title IX, Kim Mulkey hit pieces (yes that did hurt the LSU Brand like it or not), and the stigma of sports being above academics.
The raising of the LSU Brand is more important than a reelection or bringing attention to oneself, which is how most view this.

In a vacuum bringing Omar in wasn't political... stupid... but not political.
Refusing to respond to the local media about it, only to then parade around on Fox News both before and after the game and saying how bringing Omar to Tiger Stadium was "a win against the woke mob" is what made it political... and also really stupid.
Keep in mind, the woke mob was never the reason that Mike in the stadium ended... it was the mostly conservative LSU vets that ended it.

All of the mouth breathers made a big deal out of it. LSU’s vet isn’t conservative. There’s seriously nothing wrong with bringing the current Mike into the stadium despite what the current vet says. PETA can’t stop LSU from having a live tiger.
You started this thread solely to shite on the governor who’s done more for the state and university in one year than the last governor did in 8. Go get vaxed and stay in your house wearing a mask for a few years and make sure you stay six feet away and maybe we won’t cancel football at LSU if you do what I say.
