I as well. A hand off is not so hard as a toss? They could option off the toss I suppose. Not using the play/pass is, IMHO, a big mistake.

We need to instill confidence in our QBs not put the fear of god in them. That's the only negative I've noticed under miles QBs early in their careers. This is my observation not fact of course.

Harris: hesitates making absolutely sure the WR will be open (likely missing the window to throw) while thinking "dont mess this up"

When he wasn't expecting to play vs MSU last year he didn't have to hear "don't F this up" for days leading up to the game. He just trotted out there and started spinning it almost bringing us back. Same with NMSU

Now he's scared shitless checking into runs, under throwing deep balls (timid), and putting too much on short throws trying to compensate for waiting too long to absolutely make sure they will be open.

Look at the turn around at Florida all the sudden when muschamp leaves. QBs always played like garbage under him. I believe he treated QBs just like miles, and now that he's gone Grier is looking confident in his throws/decisions and it's night and day. And I know it's a new QB but I don't think he plays the same under muschamp, and I don't mean play calling just playing scared vs playing confident.

LF7 should make passing the football easy breezy. Yet it's like wrestling a greased pig for us. It always looks like such a struggle.

completely agree, 1000%
short to intermediate passing routes and play action should be open all day with the threat of 7 getting the ball, we have not developed the offense as a whole, it will come back to bite us

I agree. I do not understand this. With the defense being iffy, this team will need a balanced offense more than ever.

The hard-core Les disciples will never acknowledge this though. "We can win with LF...this is all we need" ....rinse...repeat as necessary.

What luck is it we finally get a capable QB only to watch the receivers derp up a passing game? I mean we just cant win when throwing the football.

It would be such a shame to squander LF7 because this team cannot field a credible QB.

Throw balls to receivers
receivers drop balls
blame QB

UF was plus 4 in TOs against UM. UM was plus 5 TOs against Bama. A team gets 10-12 possessions a game. If you take 4 or 5 away, it is a killer.

It is baffling how many drops these guys have. Have any of you actually felt the new gloves they wear? It is almost impossible to drop a pass unless it is a complete bullet or in a tough spot to catch. It's not like they are trying to catch these passes bare-handed. Hopefully this gets corrected and fast. The meat of the schedule will be here soon and the defense is not as good as 2011 to where they can bail a one-dimensional offense out in a jam.

QB and WR's need to build confidence and to do enough each week to keep it. All of them look like they are doubting their abilities and it looks like they all have the "yips". Once they settle down and just play the game, they will be fine. Hopefully this happens before it costs us a game.

I don't mind it. But UF was using 3 tes against ole miss. so instead of a fb, they are still trying to create a better matchup running the ball. The saints throw a 3rd tackle out there to run the ball.

That's what 7 on 7 is for during the summer. Landry had a whopping 4 catches his freshman year. He turned out just fine. never complained, and is making bank playing in the NFL.

Wow the stupidity on the first page of this thread is beyond belief.

Morons saying stupid stuff like "set number of plays" when it is obvious to a blind man that LSU abandoned the passing game against EMU only after the WR's decided they would be eating buttered popcorn during the game!

Game 1: Bring Harris along slow. Avoid a JLee situation. Done worked correct thing to do!

Game 2: Au- Continue to bring BH along. Get more accomplished than Miss. St game if the WR catch two passes they should have would have been 200 yards passing.

Game 3: SU- Game is close... secure victory and get out with the W. Don't give BH a chance to throw the game away. After all we have EMU next week.

Game 4: EMU- come out slinging it. Move away from the passing game because BH has nobody to throw too! No point in passing if it is going to be dropped.

It has been secure the W first, which is always the most important thing. Develop BH second. Team (penalties, butter fingers) decided they had other plans.

Blame Les Miles all you want but the "want" to throw the ball more was there!

nope, but I'd rather run the ball if we can. everyone knows they will need to pass. I just have faith it is coming. Mett went for 97 yards against tamu, went 4 straight 200+ yard games after that. Including 298 against bama. The second most yards in LSU history against bama. He never looked back after that.

Les needs to jerk a knot in some asses and straighten this shite up.
You're right that he had a good plan for the season. He's probably tuning things up nicely this week - we'll be fine.
