Not making excuses ALT but if you would have told both Marlon and Manning would be hurt half the year I would have told you 5th 6th place in the SEC.

If manning never goes down Idk if this team wouldn't be contending with UK right now for the sec. But there is shite that evey team deals with.

Pretty much ever team has had injuries. But you could argue that LSU's were less significant that others. Tennessee lost Turner for the year just prior to SEC play. Arkansas was trending as a NCAAT team, then lost Joe and proceeded to go 0-5 without him. Bama had Herb Jones missing for some key games. Those were all starters. LSU has been fortunate enough not to lose any starters and, at minimum, was able to stagger the Taylor/Manning loses (I don't think there has been a game where neither was available). Would having both at the same time have helped? Absolutely. But to what extent we don't know.

The SEC has been down this year compared to last season. I think everyone more or less expected that. Don't get me wrong though, Wade hasn't had a bad year by any stretch of the imagination. And things could be far, FAR worse (like Mike White fighting for his tournament life with a team that many thought could be the best in the SEC). I think it's just a little overblown to call this season an "amazing" achievement when the team was basically picked preseason to do what they have done. In a rare turn of events LSU fans expected less of their team than the national media.

a fact! He has had one really very good year and this year could be good...still games to be played.

I meant why did you word it like that. Thought that was obvious.

Auburn has a very impressive incoming class

LSU is going to keep getting better, unfortunately, they aren't the only ones.

Who was the big man we were after this summer that was considering reclassifying for this season? I think he was from out west but we didn’t get him.

N'Faly Dante. He ended up at Oregon. He had some eligibility issues early and injuries as of late. The one that hurt us is the JUCO kid, Kahdim Sy that ended up at Ole Miss. He would have been the missing rim protector. He's had a solid season for a below average OM team.
