I don’t want a defensive guy & I don’t think Aranda would fit Woodward’s usual criteria for a hire, honestly.
I do like him though. I don’t want to have to hire a new OC every 3 years. Your program goes as the offense does. I’d rather just have that guy in place

This will be met with eye rolls but the next staff needs to use the portal like Wade did for the basketball team this offseason. Wade and Musselman did a great job retooling their rosters. We should be able to find 3 or more players who can help.

I know it's been posted before, but what about Aranda with Herman as OC? I'm sure Herman, with success, would get another head gif offer at some point, though.
Personally, our offense will probably never be what '19 was, but it doesn't need to be. Problem is our defense has been so atrocious that it's put all the pressure on the offense to try to replicate the '19 success. I'm over how poor that side of the ball has looked. Aranda is a smart guy and I have faith that he would be able to bring in the right people to run the offense. I want our defense fixed. Saban is a defensive guy but he knows who he needs to make the offense one of the best every year.

The culture in this program since 1/13/20 has been as bad or worse than any program in the country. Players deserve some of the blame but O deserves the overwhelming majority. There’s no doubt 2017-2019 leadership came straight from players like Devin White and Burrow.

I’m the biggest Dave fan here but I don’t see him higher than tier 3. Not experienced enough as a HC or recruiter so we’d have to get pretty far down the list.
I do think people are overlooking how important the next coach’s DC hire will be, assuming it’s an offensive coach. You’re gonna have a core of players coming off back to back historically bad units. They’ll have some experience but not a lot of plus plays. The defense needs to be rebuilt schematically and mentally.

The Jrs & Srs have been gutted due to attrition(draft & transfer) & we’re not providing much to the team this year outside of a few guys.
Myhe JR class is mostly here.
They just aren’t contributing.

No, just your menstrual cramps.

Huh? Just about every class headliner is gone. You add Stingley & Joseph evans to that & you dont have shite
That’s 11 of 25 guys in a class that took a PK & a deep snapper
So 11 of 23

And O is standing over it watching and pissing on it.

I'm saying when you take a holistic view of the program in its current state, from coaching to injuries to culture, it's as bad as it's been in years.
Or
The perfect time to rally the young guys and show the incoming Coach what we have to build with.

Of course not, but no need for the histrionics on this board. Woodward will handle this.

No Lincoln Riley?
Just don’t think he’s realistic
$7.5mil & they are moving to the SEC.

Understand, tho I still think Woodward sees if there's any interest.

Agree with your diagnosis. We will see if the AD has the courage to administer the cure and fire O soon.

Tier 3 (backup options)
Napier
This board is so dumb sometimes. Joe Brady has 1 year of college experience as a co-coord and Napier has true head coaching experience with stops under Saban and Dabo.
If woodward were to hire brady LSU is going to get skull fricked for the next decade.
ETA: brady won't leave the NFL for college.

Brady is light years ahead of Napier in development, despite the age difference. And I still think Napier is a good coach

Ensure better strength and conditioning.

Keep knighting for him dude. Might as well, you can’t get any less popular on here

Oh please, there are built in advantages that LSU has that you can't get anywhere else. Unless Woodward really screws the pooch, LSU will be formidable next year and back in the hunt the year after. Look at what Alleva did and we won a natty off of a binder. Ed just couldn't keep the train on the tracks. We'll be fine.
