And I think Gaye is a very good player, but he loses contain a ton bc he’s crashing down inside every play.

That d line is fricking nasty I hope Anthony isn’t gone to long. They were flying around and having fun for the first time since 19. I’m happy how the d looks

2nd TD was wide open, looked like someone blew coverage on a wheel route to the TE.

Yep. I didn’t catch who it was. I think it was one of the backup LBs. Pretty sure Clark and Baskerville were done by then.

I had just made a comment about how the LBs hadn’t been fooled by TE and RB routes and then they busted one like 2 plays later.

My biggest takeaway was the energy. It actually looked like the team was excited about playing football.

That, and they knew where the eff they were supposed to be.

Yet TWO complete-breakdowns led to TWO unfettered touchdown passes by CMU....seems to happen every game, complete defensive breakdowns!!

Look how many times this has happened, in 2020 and now 2021. You have to look at the players.....and their role in these unprecedented failures!!!

Gonna give Daronte some credit in the area of good coaching on this one. As a group they sniffed out several screens, including the one you mentioned. But in several cases it wasn't just a player disrupting it, not to take away from Guillory mind you, but the whole D responded before it could develop.

They were taught and reacted to their keys very well. High five for Daronte (and all the D coaches really).

Now just figure out how to cover a TE- preferably with a S.

Smith is going to have to learn how to be an edge.

I sure liked Langford’s high school highlights. Maybe he can come along this year.
