Is it impacting Kentucky? Arkansas? You know, 2 teams that shut down MSU? What about Tennessee or UGA?

His schemes were exceptionally poorly taught o the players. That’s coaching.

so position coaches are to blame? and besides the play on the field how do you know they were poorly taught or poorly executed?

We are missing a vocal leader that makes sure everyone knows their responsibilities.

our lb play on runs has been terrible. we have a ton to fix in order to see a good defense.

And yet they are 5-1 combined with the one loss coming to a ranked A&M team. Meanwhile we have loses to SEC juggernauts Mizzou and State who are a combined 0-4 against everyone else.

Do you guys realize that we will be fighting in 2 weeks to see if we are the 2nd or 3rd worst team in the conference?

Our offense put up 41 points because they executed and our players were better than the Mizzou D players in 1 on 1 matchups. Not because Mizzou D wasn’t in position.

Mizzou scores 45 points with inferior talent and our Defense looked lost as a damn goose from start to finish. Dan Mullen may score 80, he has talent to go with scheme.

Transitive properties don't apply to a game of football.

Why is the defense always ahead of offense in every camp every year and now they are behind?

But those two schools installed entirely new coaching staffs and held MSU to a combined 14 points and forced the QB that now owns the SEC single game passing yards record to be benched. Are you telling me arkansas and Kentucky have better players than LSU does?

This is a dumb comment...

How have the other teams that have played Missouri and Mississippi State done when they played them? That's the only comp you need.

Bo is a problem. He's terrible, and is stealing money from LSU.

I’m not saying Kentucky or Arkansas would beat LSU because they beat state who beat us.

I’m saying they would beat LSU because our defensive coordinator doesn’t understand how to scheme a defense that isn’t primarily under center and has more than 2 viable weapons.

Most likely players are slow in understanding his scheme, he knows how to scheme.

Sure, but that doesn’t change the post I was replying to:

I guess a 2-6 conference record doesn’t count as a “bottom feeder”?

Look, I’m not trying to give Pelini a pass by any means. Just pointing out that this is a perfect example of tRant’s selective memory.

ETA: To the point of the OP, poor tackling and overall poor defense around the league is a COVID problem. LSU’s performance, which is bad even relative to those other bad defenses, is a Pelini problem.

Hmmm, so Miss. State and Missouri didn't have a covid problem? You could make that argument if we were the only team dealing with it, but we are not the only team.

Heck, look at his Nebraska record compared to Frost. Take it easy on him.

So you're comparing a bad coach to a worse coach? OK, now compare to Brent Venables.
