1. Orgeron can't run the program himself and needed the AD to step in with his coordinators.
2. Alleva is in meeting he absolutely has no business being in
3. There is some internal strife between Orgeron and the coordinators that needs to be addressed.

All of those issues are DEFCON 1 type of issues.

Very well done!

I feel it's Canada. I was confused from the beginning about this hire.

The longer Aranda stays around (IF the ship keeps sinking) the lower his stock is going to become.

So who earns the blame?

This season it's been:
1. Les Miles
2. The players
3. The position coaches
4. The coordinators
5. Himself but always with someone else. Ie, "I have to do a better job. So do our players."
6. The fans will be next.

Its an attempt to show they are on the same page its that simple.

Agree on both.

Re the meeting.

It is not that unusual for a superior to intervene in any corporation when there is a component not working.
This signals the entire team that it is to their benefit to work together. On the other hand, I find it useless to have released the info.
You air dirty laundry in private.

As far as Canada, he has only performed in lower conferences and usually for a year or less.
I have to ask myself as to the reason why no school fought really hard to keep him. ??

If he is simply ambition / $ driven, that concerns me as most people in that group are not "team players".
Time will tell.

All 3 of these things are what I took from it. Occam's Razor.

This doesn't make sense to me at all. You've drawn a poor conclusion.

The cost of announcing that meeting was that it gives an appearance that:

1. Orgeron can't run the program himself and needed the AD to step in with his coordinators.
2. Alleva is in meeting he absolutely has no business being in
3. There is some internal strife between Orgeron and the coordinators that needs to be addressed.

Agreed...at least that was how that read to me when it was reported.

Pure speculation on your part. The meeting signals serious problems, but your take is completely without data. The truth is we don’t know the exact nature of the problem(s). We do know, however, that it’s serious and having JA step in and then make the meeting public are indications that something’s really wrong. Saturday will tell us if anything has changed. Regardless, I’m guessing that unless things turn around significantly, Coach O is gone. A CEO doesn’t step in unless his subordinates are not doing their job, and that’s very clear.

Everytime O opens his mouth, I take it to mean that whatever he's saying benefits him most in the moment.

Under that premise, I take the meeting as his implication that he's having to deal with insubordination. Therefore how can he right the ship if he has to deal with coaches that won't do what they're told?

It goes right in hand with throwing the kickers under the bus, throwing the WRs under the bus, the OL, you name it. It all supports this idea that his camp's putting out there that he doesn't have the support system he needs to have to succeed.

I take it that Matt Canada is not happy with O meddling in the offense which O admitted doing. In the first half LSU scored 0 when O was meddling. At halftime Canada got to call what he wanted and LSU scored 21 points.

This week O is saying that the offense belongs to Canada.

Just reading between the lines I think the clarification was to tell the Coordinators that they run their show. Being that I am sure Matt Canada was hired under that directive.

Regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, and I don't believe that it'll end in a positive way, NO way will either of the coordinators stay here. They were just threw under a freight train! Why did O decide to share that info. I can only imagine how utterly pissed Aranda and Canada were.

Neither of them will be here next year, and I wouldn't be surprised if all the assistants left. O is the ring master of a 3 ring circus, and the guys that have worked for legitimate head coaches have to be wondering what in the hell is going on. Add the fact that the AD is gutless and spineless, and it's clear to see the writing is on the wall.

O has to be a chore to work for. For the betterment of my career, I'd jump off this sinking ship!
