Regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, and I don't believe that it'll end in a positive way, NO way will either of the coordinators stay here. They were just threw under a freight train! Why did O decide to share that info. I can only imagine how utterly pissed Aranda and Canada were.
Neither of them will be here next year, and I wouldn't be surprised if all the assistants left. O is the ring master of a 3 ring circus, and the guys that have worked for legitimate head coaches have to be wondering what in the hell is going on. Add the fact that the AD is gutless and spineless, and it's clear to see the writing is on the wall.
O has to be a chore to work for. For the betterment of my career, I'd jump off this sinking ship!

Let the season play out.

I've never seen a more irrational, knee jerk, emotional, from one week to the next fan base..
Will O be the coach next year, likely not, but let's let him finish this season and gauge the status of the program in December, not after the Bama game.
Making a decision off 1 game, much less the Bama game is unfair, and ignorant regardless who is being evaluated. Based on that criteria, say we hire a new offensive minded head coach for the 2017season. Is he gonna be ran off if we struggle against them next year?
I want to win every game. I wasn't happy with the offensive output, but let's face it, and recognize greatness when we see it. This BAma team will not be beat, and irrational, knee jerk reactions dont make sense.
Amazing how we all, most of us all, supported him and lived O for the past month. Now he's perceived as an idiot and not up for the job. WOW!

Both will be top 10. During Saturday nights game, they mentioned Adams is the 5th best prospect according to one analyst.
Adams is my favorite player on the team. If ever in doubt where the ball is, follow Adams. His instincts and ability to play in the box is as good as we've ever had at LSU. I wish his ball skills were better, he'd be a slam dunk top 5 pick if so.

ESPN Recruiter Rankings
Posted by TLit on 10/12/16 at 7:43 pm
Soon as I have time, I'll upload a link.
ESPN has ranked BDP the #1 recruiter in the nation so far in the 2017 cycle. He is primary recruiter for Deculus, Netherly, Delpit, and Vincent, and has several others on the cusp of conmitting... (Chaisson, and Buggs).
He may catch hell on this site, but he's killing it again.

re: Wilbon on PTI: "LSU and Alleva can go to hell!"

I've often told Wilbon to go to hell. He's a Chicago POS that thinks he's better than everyone else. How he stays on TV, other than playing victim, is beyond me!!
The bullet they were dodging all alone was the LSU Tigers.
Things could have been done, many things, to play this game. Florida was never interested, and used the Hurricane as an excuse.

re: Do you want a recruit that wants the coach or school?
Posted by TLit on 10/4/16 at 7:47 am to Captain Crown
From my perspective, as a fan, I don't care what the recruits motivation is. As long as he ends up at LSU.
A kid will usually grow to love and support their head coach, and will eventually be sad to see them go.
I hope the kid will always love, represent, and play hard for LSU regardless of who the head coach is.

I thought this was gonna be an old quote from Coach Miles.

Good grief at some ppl on here.
Pretty sure Coach O and the rest of the staff had a better grasp on NCAA rules than us on this board. Not to mention, we have a NCAA compliance officer that would have signed off on it.
Nothing to worry about!

It's a very realistic possibility that LSU won't get the first several choices. LSU may have to "settle" for Coach O. And depending on how the season finishes out, that may not be a bad thing.
There will be lots of rumors about this coach and that coach. Coaches at current schools will have to answer questions about this job non stop. They will have to continually deny any interest, then if they go back on their words will be hated. Their current school will also have plenty of time to work out raises and contract extensions.
It wouldn't surprise me to see coach O get the job. I'd honestly rather him get it than some guy at mid-level program with no connections to the state.

There's also a rumor some people reached out to Jimbo last year and he said no. Making the decision to bring back Miles easier on the administrations part.
Regardless, it should have been done last year, but the power-to-be were spineless, at best.
If you have enough cause to fire a coach 4 games into the year, you had enough cause last year. Not a good look and not good for the kids.

re: Worst game by a punter in LSU history?
Posted by TLit on 9/27/16 at 9:08 am to BuddyBuckets
Funny how you didn't post this 2 weeks ago when the same punter was SEC special teams player of the week.
I too thought the guy had a horrible game, but its not the reason we lost.
The guy is wildly inconsistent. One week average nearly 50 yards a punt, the next average 34. Pitiful.
Not sure how this is BDP's fault though.

"Modern" offense?
So you want to completely start fresh, 5 weeks into the season. Scrap the entire playbook, verbage, scheme- the whole enchilada?
Sounds legit on the X box. Real world, not so much.

LSU is a top 5-7 coaching gig in the country. You can always debate on exact order, and that shouldn't even matter. Facilities, resources, recruiting, atmosphere, salary are all outstanding.
What is subpar, at times, is the itrational and often ridiculous fan base.
Thank the Lord the next HC will never read some of the posts in here.

re: Convincing a Top Candidate to Come to LSU

The worst part of this job is competing in the SEC West. Hard to go undefeated in this division.
A top tier coach employed at a Big 12 school, or ACC school, where it's much easier to make the 4 team playoff will think long and hard about that.

If BDP is to blame for anything it's the lack of a punter. He's an ace recruiter, and he hasn't got a punter on campus.
How the hell can you go from SEC special teams player of the week, like he was against Miss St, to the performance he had last week. I don't blame his inconsistency on Peveto.
The special teams, outside of the punter, have been good this year, at least to the point where it not the reason we are 2-2.
I always find it amazing how fans are quick to give a player credit for a punt or kick return for a TD, calling it individual effort.
The same kid drops a punt, or the left guard on the PAT gets blown up and the kick gets blocked, it's the coaches fault. The player is free of criticism.

Highly unlikely. Unless Cameron was 100% responsible for every poor decision Harris made.
Orgeron is auditioning for a job in his eyes. You dont do that to this team, esp since Harris handled this situation the way he did after the benching.

I don't believe for a second that Briles is as guilty as this report made him out to be. Briles was the fall guy.
He will back on his feet eventually. I'd rather him be on our sidelines, as either HC or OC than on the opposing sidelines somewhere in the SEC West.

re: Can some1 explain why Ensminger was chosen OC over D. Craig
Posted by TLit on 9/26/16 at 7:34 am to GhostStoryTiger
Coach O is auditioning for a job. He reshuffled the staff and put coaches in the best spot he saw fit.
Ensminger has double the coaching experience and has OC experience. Whether he gets it or not, O is putting his best foot forward, and giving this team the best chance to succeed. This is not his 1st interim HC rodeo either.

re: Potentially good hires a sizeable portion of the fanbase would hate

If there is anything this board has taught me, it's that some in this fan base will complain and whine about any hire. Then at the 1st sign of adversity that group will grow exponentially!
Many on that list would be great hires. I just believe the new HC will be a QB and offensive guru. Something much different than the double TE, I Form we seen in the last decade.
I'm not sure anyone will touch Briles as a HC, but I would love him to be the new OC depending on who this new HC is. Lots of rumors going around that Jarret Stidham is following him wherever he goes.
