I.m sorry but I was 101% O supporter before and after the 2019 season, but he lost control and his desire to be a coach. The 2019 season went to his his head and little head. 2020 was horrible and the depth of recruits was empty. He hurt the program.

Everybody's grateful for 2019 and pulling us out of the Miles malaise, but Orgeron doesn't have anyone to blame but himself for what happened. But I don't think anybody really hates Ed Orgeron.
He totally had himself to blame. Not sure about the nobody really hating him part though. The mention of his name elicits an extremely negative response from some posters on here.
I look at it like we should be thanking our lucky stars that it worked out like it did with 2019 somehow happening. He helped recruit a bunch of great players to LSU and got out of the way in 2019. Many coaches just have to meddle.
And other than the "Roll Tide WHAT" moment, etc., that season (which was a private moment with his team after a monumental W), Ed O was surprisingly very professional in his interviews and didn't get ahead of himself talking about the national championship non-stop, etc. Even after we won the NC, he was reserved and professional in his post-game celebration. Everything about that season was unlikely.

Had a chance to be an icon. Chased his dick and became an embarrassment to himself, to his university and to his culture.

You know, it's perfectly ok to love his accomplishments while still hating the state he left the program in before his departure.

Like what? His good coaches were hold overs from Les.
How many coaches on the present staff were on the 19 team, or were hired by Orgeron? How many of the present staff were fired by Kelly and then rehired. The weakest coaches on the staff, for a couple years, were hired by Kelly. DL, DB, DC, Special Teams. How many of those guys were directly responsible for early losses?
Our Heisman candidate QB was an Orgeron recruit.

What do you think 95-IQ Orgeron contributed, exactly?
He has more Championship Rings than anyone on this staff. HC and D line.
If he goes to a good program such as Miami, he will probably get another before he retires.

How are clowns like you still in existence?

He had 2019 then literally quit
Set us back years and it’s inexcusable. The buyout was ludicrous too because nobody would have “stole” him

That stupid motherfricker is consistent. He has stayed shilling for O since he was fired.

An Aranda hire means no 2019 Championship.
Aranda was one of the key components to that 2019 Championship. He was one of the adults in the room on that staff. Aranda left partially because of butting heads with Coach O & it's why the wheels feel off for O afterwards especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Two weeks later, a caller who identified himself as J-Boy told Orgeron he had a little sister in the audience and asked that he please not make a pass at her. "Come on, man. Really?" Orgeron responded to the caller.
Host Chris Blair tried to change the topic, but Orgeron wasn't finished.
"You know, down in the bayou, we've got a nice little fishing hole for people like that," he said.

He didn't have the skills to navigate much other than some recruiting b/c he was always intellectually limited. That's why he never rose about DL coach/bag man in anything other than name, except when he was interim coaching USC. By the time he was fired, his DL coaching was out-dated, even.
I want to piggyback off of this. People get being a good recruiter mistaken for being able to put a complete roster together to compete in the SEC & for championships. Retaining the majority of Miles staff allowed O to hold onto recruits that Miles had already built relationships with. After 2019, those players left & so did the majority of the staff who were holdovers from Miles. Once that occurred, we really got to see O's inability to put together & manage a complete roster because like you mentioned, O is intellectually limited. Poor roster management & the inability to hire talented assistants because coaches were afraid to join the staff of a career loser, is what did O in. It's why he feel so hard, so fast.

According to Wiki, LSU's defense ranked 31st nationally in total yards allowed per game, with an average of 344.2 yards, according to CBS Sports. They also conceded 21.9 points per game, which was the third-worst among national champions since 1936. The defense was solid but not elite. 2019 happened because of the sheer superiority of the offense. O's vision of adding Brady was the difference. Bottom line is that no one can reasonably 2nd guess the hiring of O thru the 2019 season. Hate him for bringing about the best season ever, but most fans appreciate the 2019 season.
