Woodward now can set his sights on a quality replacement the rest of the season. Discussions with agents and contract parameters can already be hammered out. Only Corey Raymond and Greg McMahon are worthy of staying on.

The only question is will LSU hire a search firm to protect the names of candidates interested from Louisiana's public records request laws. Current head coaches don't want their names leaked during the vetting process.

Don’t kid yourself, calls started going out after UCLA.

I think it’s gonna be like Mulkey and Johnson. We won’t hear much until it’s final and announced. Good for the program, terrible for tRant’s collective mental health (myself included)

I doubt McMahon sticks around. If O’s gone, I see him retiring. He’s only there because O asked him to come down when he got let go by the Saints. He was headed for retirement before that call.

Make no mistake, LSU looking for a new Head Coach will undoubtedly lead to several current coaches getting pay raises (e.g. Lincoln Riley)

Why no love for Mickey Joseph? What about Faulk in some kind of role?

Mickey Joseph is here for recruiting only. He has had to have additional help coaching receivers with Jerry Sullivan and Brady. Faulk, an LSU legend, has no prior experience as a RB position coach. The time for feel good favoritism hires is over. Time to hire Quality coaches at every position.

The running backs regressed under Kevin Faulk.

Um. I don’t see Coach Chris on that list.

You're correct. Tommie Robinson, now the RB coach at Tx A&M, was forced out by his old pal Coach Orgeron in favor of Faulk. Again, who has ZERO experience coaching RB's.

I still think Brad Davis should be given a fair shot. He has done a good job in Arkansas. Need to see how he recruits and coaches. I actually am fine with everyone else being shown the door.

For someone with so MUCH experience in CFB and NFL (under the greatest FB coach in our lives) be this bad is kind of surprising. I didn't think he would be awesome, but shocked the RBs have regressed.

When you get hit before the line of schrimmage 99.5% of the time, there's only so much you can do. I'm not ready to blame Faulk just yet. Reminds me of Fournette trying to run against Bama. He could've had superpowers and still not been able to do it.

I’m choosing to look at this as an exciting time full of hope and possibility. I think Woodward has given plenty reason to be optimistic too, and I doubt he breaks form here.

In fairness to Kevin, I don't think any RB coach can make our running game look good with this offensive line.
