It's got to be either the for the 3rd WR spot or DE opposite to Montgomery.

Ware is a beast, but Ford is not human.

Agreed. Ware and Ford are going to make an awesome 1-2 punch no matter who starts. I think the WR battle will be more interesting, with Wright/Jarvis/Boone

I think Reid is the odd man out at this point. He'll certainly play...but it looks pretty clear that Taylor and Loston are the starters.

I expect Reid to be starting by the time we are in the thick of the SEC schedule. Loston is the more beastly, but Reid is more instintive and nearly as beastly.

Any chance (barring further injury, of course) that you think Taylor becomes the odd man out?

Ive heard the LBer spots are wide open, except for Baker, Should be fun to watch. Also DT's.

DT's are my concern. I love Freak and hope he is all that but even if he is we need more bodies for our schedule.

I agree with this! These two are going to be fun to watch this season. I also think that the QB situation will get interesting during the season. I am hoping that JJ did improve, but I just don't think he could have improved that much to move the offense the way it should with the amount of talent on this offense!

It will be interesting to see if Anthony Johnson starts..he is listed as a starter now but he has to be freaking BEASTLY to start at DT as a freshman..Josh Downs or Bennie Logan were my pick
Guess we'll see

DT battle is the most critical imo. With our LB corps being the weak link in the D, we will need our DTs to step up big time for run defense. Freak Johnson's battle makes this spot the biggest position battle.
As far as most interesting, I think the battle for punt returner will be that. We have a lot of stud skill players who could be homerun threats in the return game. Mo? RR? Gore? Shep? Any of these could take it to the house.

Right now Taylor and Reid are both at SS and Loston is at FS. I don't think Reid is the odd man out at all. He is a pretty special talent and his ball instincts are incredible. We talk about our 3 corners we have but these safeties are pretty impressive and I think starting the 2012 season everyone will be talking about our defensive backfield ahead of Bama's.
As far as other position battles I agree on the 3rd WR. It will be interesting to see if Jarvis or Odell can crack the lineup ahead of Boone, Williams and Fobbs.
