Texas already beat them at bama by 10. They don’t need to play them again unless you are giving bama a mulligan for the first game. Whether they could beat Ohio St. is debatable. Also, you think they beat Ga. again in two weeks?

The thread is who is best one loss team. So you compare the teams if they were to play again.

Not sure they could outscore Texas.
Ohio St. is a toss up.
They probably don’t beat Ga. again.

Everyone keeps saying this but bama was terrible at the beginning of the year. They are not the same team as they were at the start. I would bet on bama if they played again.

Yeah, and everyone just knew Oregon was going to destroy Washington in a rematch. You don’t just get to speculate and completely disregard a head to head win. The game was played. Texas won. And thats all anyone can know for sure.

Well I’m pretty sure that everyone thought Alabama was better going into their first meeting too.

Yeah people definitely did. If they played again I would bet bama wins. I personally think they are the best 1 loss team out there.

I think whoever's playing the best football in Nov-Dec trumps some early loss where your QB was still developing. Right now Alabama is playing the best football in the land; they're well equipped to beat Michigan, Washington and Florida St, their likely playoff opponents.

Did you miss then nearly losing to a 6-6 team just last week?

The playoff is about who the best team is today, not 12 weeks ago. Bama is absolutely one of the best teams right now.

Yea, I forgot about this game. UH had that game outright stolen from them

They needed a miracle at Auburn. If you give a team enough chances they will put it together.

They probably don’t beat Ga if they played again.

Then why play the first half of the season? If those games don’t count you could save the argument and just play the regular season in November. The argument that they are better team today doesn’t negate a loss. That’s why you play the game. Some teams get better as the season goes and some teams tank ie Colorado.

Who won that game? That's all that matters.

Of course the team that many believe is better than Alabama, the Texas Longhorns, also has head-sceatching performance over the last 6 weeks-- beating K State at home by 3 in OT, and winning nailbiters against two BAD football teams: TCU and UH.

All these posters railing on you about Bama are the same ones that LSU just ran the table, beat Bama, UGA and were a 1 loss SEC champ after losing to FSU, would be making a case for LSU to be in that 4

Texas gets the nod.

At least they’re SEC next year.

Don’t be a hater.

Bama would blow out Texas in a hypothetical rematch

Absurd. They had a chance and blew it. And Bama dominated; the game wasn't nearly as close as the final score suggests.

Am I the only one who sees the irony here?

For years people bitched and moaned about having a playoff to decide things on the field rather than some hypothetical opinions deciding things.

Now you folks want to ignore what's already happened on the field (Texas has already beaten Alabama) and decide playoff seeding by hypothetical opinion.

Ohio St. is going to drop to #7, not a chance they get in.
