Just talked to a friend in Tiger Band. They DID NOT ban Neck. He says he's not sure where the rumor started.

I can not stand our student section. None of them know about football and most of them dont want to be there. They used to make TS, that stopped in 2003 imo.

There is a certain amount of classless behavior a school will accept because the students, or a percentage of them are still kids. When this is abused, expect to lose certain priveleges. That is how things work in adult land.

I sit in the bottom row of the student section and had no clue this was happening! I couldn't hear it. And if you know anything about sound on tv...it's all about where you shoot the mike. It could have been just a select group. Either way...some people just never learn. O we o was fine til the sc game. Neck was fine till now.

Since our student section can't seem to show any respectfullness, just limit the band to playing only at halftime and pre- and post-game. If they don't have the decency to take the words cock, dick, frick, suck, etc out of their gay little modifications to the cheers, then punish them by either not letting the band play songs outside of those prescribed points and/or take away seats.
Newsflash people, our student section is embarrassing. Saying "Kick their arse" is nowhere to "You suck cock", "Suck a fricking tiger dick, bitch", or whatever the hell they added to the Tiger Rag cheer besides "Assholes". If it was just the "assholes" part.
Note to you morons, it is not creative or cool to use curse words in a cheer.

Nothing else was added to Tiger Rag. It was always just "assholes." And guess who we were playing when "You suck, Cocks," made it's only appearance. That's right, the team that calls themselves the Cocks.
I'm not saying that I like the addition to Neck. It's crass and uncalled for. But chanting "assholes" during Tiger Rag had been around for a long time, and "You suck, Cocks" was apt, albeit sophomoric.

They let things slide with Assholes and Kick their arse for a reason. When it became that every cheer was being turned into something retarded and disrespectful, they started taking it out.
Students are being fricking morons by keeping the Oh We Oh, You Suck going without the band playing it, because it will only magnify the stupidity and disrespectful behavior our current students show.

Even more so when I saw it spread and take over the SS...the group next to me were screaming it at the top of their lungs.
Are they going to ban 1st down cheer next when the "Kick their arse" replacement gets steam in "rebellion" of the censoring?

No, they just started becoming hypersensitive after the the South Carolina game.
You suck has been chanted for YEARS.
Then for South Carolina, they chanted "You suck, cocks" (remember they call themselves gamecocks, and I have seen their cheerleaders with the shorthand of 'cocks as well).
Even though it pretty much reverted back to the old chant the next game outside of a handful of dying pockets, that wasn't good enough and the censoring rampage started.
I get the removal of Tigah Rag, and now Neck, but "You Suck" isn't profanity at all. You can't just ban traditions to bring the SS to a fricking "G" rating.
Does Alleva have a Puritan background or something?
