Fulton isn't a kid straight out of high school. He's been in LSU's system for the last years and a half. Expectations might need to be lowered a little but having him on the field is huge. There's a reason why the players are so excited.

Just as adding a better quarterback could hypothetically add a touchdown or two a game, a (theoretical) lock-down corner could hypothetically prevent an extra touchdown or two. And with the prediction of mostly close games this season, you could in turn add a game or two in the win column estimate based on that alone.
I understand that and know he will make us better, obviously. But 2 WAR for someone who hasn’t played a down in college football. It’s a bit of a reach if we are being realistic. Jmho.

Fulton is capable of accounting for direct scores, which definitely affects game outcomes.

Based on what exactly? Please be specific

Fulton is not going to change the W/L ...getting him back is great news but you're overreacting. The defense was already solid.
correct.

Fulton will certainly help, but the defense was already stout.

The question marks on offense still remain.

I'm looking forward to Miami just throwing away from Greedy. Fulton jumps routes from what I understand. We should have at least 1 turnover first half of that game.

well theres your first problem your opinion is based on incorrect info. he played as a true freshman, and likely would have played last year were it not for his year long suspension.

Aren't people allowed to change their opinions as the information we have to form opinions changes?

I don't get people on this board. You criticize those that don't support O, then you criticize them when they change their minds too.

Im all about a change of opinion, except for the guys who bitch and moan starting thread after thread about the coaches/team/administration enough for me to literally notice your name and the hypocrisy of your new-found positivity.

This is the same dude that will create 3-5 bashing threads a week if we drop this game to Miami. Just wait...

I think 2011 schedule was harder and we finished 12-0!

That's a change in information. He shouldn't be upset if we lose to Miami?

All I want is consistency. If you create roast threads all last season and all off-season, don't let the blind anticipation of the new season suddenly change your tune.

If you hate CEO/Ensminger/Alleva, the scheme, the playbook, the depth chart (WHATEVER) enough to bombard us with your negativity for months, own that, don't come up talking out of both sides of your mouth a week out from the first game.

I was thinking 5-6 wins. Now maybe 7-8. No way LSU gets to 10 this year.

I thought the defense was good, but we were all concerned about the second corner opposite of Greedy as being weak. I believe all of the reports that Fulton is just as talented, and he didn't miss much action because he continued to practice throughout the suspension. He appears to be a great quality teammate, and he is getting the playing time he deserves. I think the defense can be nasty. Let us not forget we are getting Shelvin back this year as well. As Richt says, "we have some dudes." I was thinking 8-4 before yesterday. I think we are going to beat someone or two we were not originally expected to, possibly Miami, Georgia, and (God willing) Alabama. I think 10-2 is possible if Burrow plays well and Ensminger performs to O's hype. I expect us to be competitive in nearly every game. The rest may come down to some luck. We needed some news to give us some life, and I think this will help immediately against Miami. We have a good chance I think.

Despite what you may think, most of us love LSU more than we hated the hire. We WANT this to work out. Why is it bad for us to start changing our tune when there’s reason to? It’s not blind anticipation, it’s seeing the pieces coming together.

That’s what fans do. They get excited when things look good.

I mean I'm as pessimistic about O as they come, but if he were to go 12-0, I'd have to re-evaluate what I thought about his coaching ability. Why would I continue to say he sucks when the results clearly don't support it? I don't see what's wrong with changing your mind as the results change.

Only a fool continues to say the same thing over and over despite evidence to the contrary.

12-0 is a bit steep of an expectation. If he goes 10-2 this year with our schedule and a green QB, and you still think that he sucks, then maybe the problem is you.

I think most agree that O is a solid D line coach. He's not a specialist as a DC/OC, so he will rely on his coordinators. I believe that most d1 coaches don't act as a DC/OC and turn those responsibilities over. O can be effective if he makes good coordinator hires and stays on top of recruiting- he is a solid recruiter. Time will tell.

Fine 10-2.

He has to actually get it though, not go 8-4 or 7-5 and then have guys act as if it's 10-2 because it would've been that way if this guy didn't fumble or that guy didn't miss his block.

Ten wins will be easy to obtain with this talent. If les miles did it numerous times O can this year for sure
