They both lost their luster when Ed and Co. took over. You’ll usually get stud players in single digits uniforms. We just happened to have Pat, Tyrann and LF all back to back for different reasons. After that, they tried to make it a thing. 18 got out of control when it was being awarded to two players. If you want to hand out captains patches, then do so. You don’t see Ole Miss handing out two 38s every year.

I liked it better when it was an unofficial thing. The videos and hype around it by the school is too much. It needs to go back to what it was when PP, TM, and Leonard wore it.

Who was thrown off the team? Mathieu? Yes, he was but look at him now. And he comes to TS when he can. I met the guy on the field when we played McNeese in 2015. Great guy.
But maybe we shouldn't give him credit for overcoming his demons and being successful in the NFL.
I'm not trying to be rude but I don't think you're being very fair.
If you don't like the 7 tradition, that's fine. No one cares.
But to say people have blinders on when 2 people didn't necessarily worked out, and that's a stretch, because anyone who saw Mathieu play would agree that he balled out.
The Giles thing, not dumping on the kid at all, I would agree with.
But you're posting like the most recent people to wear it sucked and that isn't true.
Jacoby was better than average. PP was awesome. Fournette was damn good. Mathieu was Mathieu.
