No one has said it's a done deal. It's pretty widely speculated that a good showing in the SEC tournament is needed to host.

I know y'all will just ignore the info and try to get me banned, but I find these debates interesting so I decided to look into LSU's resume
Positives:
19 wins vs. RPI top-50 teams is one of the best in the country.
7th ranked SOS
Top-5 team in the best conference in America
Negatives:
RPI is currently at 20
Only 17 wins in conference
Non-conference RPI of 62
Non-conference SOS is 60
7-13 on the road

In my non-expert opinion, that looks like a strong 2 seed (barring a tournament run).
Positives:
19 wins vs. RPI top-50 teams is one of the best in the country.
