Having a president who supports your athletics program as well as your academics goes a long way. Joe Alleva and F. King Alexander both actively worked against the betterment of LSU and thought they themselves were bigger than the programs. Woodward and Tate have been the exact opposite.

At no point did I mention the fact that (edit: Tate) was black. I said that hiring a black coach who was unqualified over someone like Brian Kelly would be a diversity hire. I don't understand why more of them don't see this. Just look at how much enrollment has increased at Bama since Saban got there. When your athletics programs creates such huge national exposure it draws more people in to want to attend your university and become potential lifelong donors. Aside from that when your football program turns a huge profit like it does it directly donates back into your academics.
Why any president would operate to the detriment of your athletics program or not really give a shite about it is beyond me. frick F King, dude hated that people on the board cared so much about athletics, he could not see the bigger picture like Tate does.
