Thanks TJ for leaving that window open for speculation.

I wish TJ Finley nothing but success wherever he goes unless he plays against LSU. But I disagree with DVV that he didn’t say anything wrong in his interview to throw shade LSU’s way. This is shade;

“ Finley had the opportunity to throw some negative things out there in his interview with Miller, but he refrained.

“There’s a lot of stuff that went on behind closed doors that I don’t want to throw out to the media,” said Finley.”

I mean seriously wtf do you call that??? Could it have been worse? Absolutely, but that comment right there will send the people that want to hurt LSU into overdrive to find out what he meant and try and sow discord with it.

It could be personal stuff and not program related. You don't know!

The number of people looking to paint LSU in a negative light won’t grow because of this, it will just allow them to regurgitate the same crap and claim it as new. Any person with common sense could see that there were issues behind closed doors whether it be coaching hires, coaching, players opting out, the political climate or CEO just skeezing with a cleat chaser. Winning will cure it all.

"I don't want to throw negative stuff out to the media, but I will. It can't possibly be because I was the 3rd-best or 4th-best quarterback on the roster. There were things that went on behind closed doors. But I don't want to say negative things...but I will."

The kid is trying to promote himself to other schools by softly suggesting that he might do better in another situation. I don’t have a problem with it. Best of luck, we’ve got a solid QB room without him.

His accuracy and decision-making aren’t LSU caliber; I always thought this based on high school tape.

I hope he winds up at Auburn because our DBs will FEAST

I think we all know that last year wasn’t great in the locker room. It’s been said by many within the organization, not sure why TJ had to speak on it anymore.

Yeah, that was low of him to say. No like it matters, though. We all know he thought he was "misunderstood" by that video he put out. I saw with my own eyes what the reason was that he didn't get anymore playing time and lost his starting spot...he's called max johnson. Period, end of story. He lost the position battle and got all upset about it and wants to leave bc he won't play here again. Any extra bs that he says is just that.

I mean, this is the same guy who’s mom compared to Justin Fields and said that it must be nice for a qb to be “celebrated rather than tolerated”. The guy was ranked around 500 in the country, yet apparently his expectation has been being a day one starter at an sec program.

Yeah I know. Idk where all of his cockiness comes from...likely his parents with the crap like that his mom said. There's just no way he's going to beat out bo nix at auburn and there's damn sure no way hes going to go to bama and beat out Bryce young. He needs to lower his expectations a bit.

Personally, I am sick of this kid. Just go already.
Nobody ran him off. He could have stayed and tried to compete and improve. He CHOSE TO LEAVE LSU. So go. Enough is enough.

I mean there’s no reason to dislike him: he’s just not good enough and he realized it.

I think he’d have a much better time slinging it in the Fun Belt or CUSA than trying to make the SEC thing happen.

He did. Did he improve to LSU standards, that's debatable but he did stay.

Seeing the crop of QBs in the mix, I don't blame him for trying to find another landing spot. Hardly worth dumping on him.

Don't follow what he does if it's such an issue for you. Stop being a jerk.

Exactly.

Let's freak out and speculate he did this and that he's such a detriment to the team which he is not.

What? He didn't "stay." He left almost as soon as he could. That's fine. It's up to him, but he bolted after one semester of real competition. Good luck to him, but I don't see the SEC in his future unless it's possibly Kentucky. Even Vanderbilt has a decent returning starter. He (or his parents) need to lower their expectations. The third string quarterback at LSU isn't going to start at Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia or even Tennessee.

Maybe he reads the Rant.
He has shown more restraint than many so called LSU fans.
Good luck to him and may he always think before he speaks.

I get the impression you're an over-reacting drama queen IRL. That's just me though.

I was watching an interview with Chad Pennington the other day and he said his biggest thing with QBs is throwing a catchable ball. There are eons of guys who can line up on the goal line and heave it 50 yards and throw hard all over the field, but it takes someone special to throw a football with touch.

Finley is the guy who can throw far, but the nuances of the position elude him. Timing, accuracy, touch, leading a receiver, understanding every throw doesn't have to be 100 mph, etc.

I've rewatched a few of Finley's games last year and he's a guy that throws AT his receivers and causes them to stop and catch the ball. Very few passes arrive in stride, everything is a fastball. He's just a guy and couldn't hold Fields's jock strap.
