I don't disagree, but they're in a shitty spot. If they do too little, then they're crooked and sweeping stuff under the rug for the home team. Too much, and, well, I think that's where they are now.......

Actually most of the people that I know that are cops have served in the military, received an education but still wish to serve in some form or capacity such as cops or federal agencies.

Of course I don't think I know any BRPD so I can't speak to their level of education.

Yeah, I went through the phase you're in too. Then I grew up.

I'm probably older than you are. I had a positive view of the police until a few years ago when I was pulled over for a bogus traffic violation. The cop proceeded to get all aggro and tried to egg me into taking a swing at him. Changed my perception of the police forever. Like I said, I don't trust 'em. Not even a little bit.

What are police officers going to do in the afterlife when they are just like the rest of us and aren't so high and mighty?

It's called their job. Nobody is asking them to sweep it under the rug. But we're asking for them not to waste time and money on stupid shite like DNA tests over a bar fight.

Hopefully detectives are handling this and not cops.

Scum. Common GED-grade scum. Nothing to do with this case; everything to do with typical cases. I drive slow in hopes to never be forced to talk to one again.

I'm the resident cop hater in these parts. Trust me, though, I could run circles around you in a one on one debate about police, their tactics, their abuses and what needs to be done to correct the injustices inflicted on society by the creeping militarization of police forces around the country.

39, and you?

Regardless, I'm mature enough not to judge the entire group because I had a run-in with one a'hole. Got any morons where you work? Does that make you a moron?

I'm sure they've dealt with a bar fight before.

The vast majority of cops are good people. But this incident was handled poorly.

This was a bar fight between people none of whom are innocent.

Instead, BRPD, playing for the cameras, had to go ruin two people's lives by charging them with a felony.

Total BS.

BRPD is pushing it because the batteree is pushing it.

If the batteree said never mind, not pressing charges, this would be over and done with.

One with this much national media attention? Again, I'm not saying they're not all f'ed up on this one, I'm just saying that in my opinion, as a whole we (society) owe a lot to the law enforcement community.

Some of y'all have some terrible misconceptions of police officers.

1. Pay is not great, but not bad. Average officer makes 50K a year.

2. Retirement at 25 years.

3. Education of most officers- at least a 2 year degree.

4. We do have a high share of azzholes, mostly rookies. They eventually grow out of it, but some are just butts.

5. I hate a crooked cop a lot worse than yall do.
