That's an Ole Miss motto. Ours should be we booze, but we don't lose.

Wanted to mention that I was in Tucson in 2003 when we played the University of Arizona. The night before we were walking around some area with bars close to campus and were trying to talk football with any locals that we could find. I would say 95% of the people we talked to didn't even know there was a game the next night. As a life long LSU football fan, I could not comprehend the lack of enthusiasm for the game...but soon realized the SEC is a special place.

On a related note, I saw a dude dressed head to toe in Nebraska gear at the Ole Miss game.

Forgot to add that I was also at the Arizona State game in 2005. Seemed like a much better party atmosphere, but they looked at us like something was wrong when we set up our tent and started drinking...

The Chimes is one of the best bars I've been to. We went back Sunday just to bring home some yellow cups.

Awesome, so glad you guys had a great time! LSU fans really try to take care of non-rival visitors, I knew people would welcome you and make sure you had a great trip.

Wish the outcome could have been different, I think we're all still depressed about that.

What'd you think of LSU band Pregame?? And if you haven't already in this thread tell us about some of the stuff you ate throughout the day!

Turtle soup was awesome! Great jambalaya, gumbo and bbq. Really tasty crawfish sausage. Melt in your mouth rib eyes dashed with "slap ya momma". Even got some head cheese. (My clothes are a little tighter)

Oh and the band was awesome. Couldn't believe how many people were in the stadium forty minutes before kickoff

Mr. Wahlberg - That was an awesome post, sir. Thanks for taking the time to post your experience.
I also live in Arizona and am an ASU grad. I am from New Orleans and was born with purple and gold running through my body. My father was an LSU grad and I was named after Billy Cannon (yes I'm old ).
There is ZERO in the Pac12 that can match SEC caliber atmosphere. I, too, was at the LSU game in Tucson in 2003. That atmosphere was stale in comparison.
Each time you referred "YOU" in your post you hit the nail on the head. Every place has it's uniqueness but in Louisiana it is definitely the people that make it - not just football events either. "What's the best thing about Louisiana?" Food, culture, music, outdoors? All those things are second to none but it is THE PEOPLE of the great state of Louisiana that set it apart. You see it in disaster times as well. Like O says "One team, One heartbeat." Same holds true to the residents of home!
Glad you enjoyed the great time. You won't find it anywhere else so make sure you go back and do it again.

Imagine if you can what Mardi Gras is like, same LSU party attitudes, more food, more drink, and it lasts 2 + wks. And, yes, they do show their boobs for beads. Come down for that one year & you'll come back every year afterwards.

I was in New Orleans when the Saints won the Super Bowl. That was cataclysmic! Imagine the NC game in New Orleans and LSU winning!
