LSU was playing Florida in the first HOME game after 9/11, and TGBFTL played "Amazing Grace" at halftime. I have never heard Death Valley so silent before, nor the Band sound so truly amazing.
I still get goosebumps and tears watching this.
As tomorrow is the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, I wish TGBFTL would do this once again.

TGBFTL plays "Amazing Grace" to a silent Death Valley

*edited to clarify that yes, this video obviously shows a HOME game in Tiger Stadium.

I’m pretty sure that was the first home game after 9/11. We played @Tenn the week after the Auburn game was postponed.

We did amazing grace for the 10 year anniversary in 2011 also. They really should do it again

Frank Wickes was definitely a classic band director during TGBFTL's Golden Years, unlike the loud mouth attention whore currently in place.

Where a backup WR got the start due to Donte Stallworth being injured.

Kelley Washington went for over 250 yards on 12 receptions including a 75 yard TD.

That was awesome. Brings back memories. Hard to believe that was 20 years ago. The trumpets taking over sends chills down the spine

Would be interesting to hear what that day was like in football ops. Perspective from the coaches.

If you are there at halftime tomorrow, I predict that you will be pleased with what you see.

Tiger Band currently being run by the Marching Band equivalent of Mike Archer & Curley Hallman. (Or more appropriately, Willie Taggart)
