Their season average is 37.2% from 3. If they shot that vs us they’d have been 10/27 instead of 13/27 and would’ve beat us easily anyway. Again that’s beside the point because nobody’s talking about why they got so many open looks. We couldn’t stay in front of them and were committing extra guys to stop their inside players. Go rewatch the game, there were times they had 3 and 4 open guys on the perimeter so of course they’re gonna shoot well, they were wide open. Inversely we were playing too fast, pressing too hard, taking out of rhythm, quick shots. DJ was pushed out of the pocket and wasn’t patient which led to poor shot selection. Toppin and #9 were able to stop Nwoko inside and we had no 3rd option so we couldn’t score. Repeating stats as if they just magically appear ignores what actually happened to produce them.

You're ate up with pessimism

You keep bringing up particular stats as if they just randomly happened. The score just showed the discrepancy in the teams. In other words we couldn’t beat them. Whether it was 24, 30 or 18 points, we couldn’t win that game because of what the teams could and couldn’t do.
You seem to be ignoring the fact that my very first comment stated that it is possible to simultaneously believe that Texas Tech is the better AND that it was a good performance for them and bad one for LSU resulting in a more lopsided score than the true difference between the teams. You are also ignoring that I said that LSU isn’t an NC contender or even a Top 25 team. What I am saying is that you cannot conclude from the one game that LSU isn’t a tournament team.

I can tell you that we have good point guard but theirs was better, he was very impressive and while I really like our guy - theirs could do everything ours could
Yeah, he’s good. Maybe DJ didn’t have the best game but I’m glad we got him. but I also think the defense was sold out to not let topping beat us until it was too late with our offense playing the way it was.

Oh absolutely, DJ is a good point guard that belongs at this level. I wish he could shoot the 3 a bit better but aside from that I like everything else he brings offensively.

Has nothing to do with what I posted. I never made any comment opposing those statements

Then why did you respond to me in the first place if you didn’t oppose what I said?

I get what you're saying. Some people are so miserable that the highlight of their day is to come on here and say idiotic things anonymously. They need to open up an adult daycare so all these idiots can entertain each other, while the rest of us with a functioning brain can live peacefully!

Because the OG statement I responded to wasn’t about that. Look it’s obvious you just want to argue and shill. You have no interest in what actually caused the lopsided score and that’s fine but If you don’t care why keep arguing?

However, I'm sure that wrapping up our non-conference with SLU (KenPom 278), Prairieview (KenPom 309) and Southern Miss (KenPom 191) will be great confidence boosters before a brutal SEC schedule starting January 3.
Disclaimer - This is not a defense of LSU's recent scheduling as I'm well aware of the work that Wade's assistants put into deciphering the NET formula to schedule good opponents.
LSU is in a tough situation when it comes to MBB scheduling. They aren't good enough on paper for the elite Power 4 types to schedule in non-conference play. Duke losing to LSU in a home & home is a lot worse than Michigan St. They also don't have the fanbase to draw massive ticket sales to the marquee events in MSG, Maui, etc. Yes...I'm aware they've been before but more often are playing in Destin, Charleston, Greenbrier, etc. over thanksgiving.
I'd like for them to leverage this year with a better roster, and likely better record, to get into some better Thanksgiving/December neutral site events and work on the NET/KenPom manipulation.

He’s saying it wasn’t some lucky shooting night for them and unlucky night for us. He’s saying they’re just a lot better than us.
You know, they could be a good team that was on a hot streak that night.

I thought this was some type of YouTube challenge where the team downed vomit.

I think it’s more apparent that you want to argue and bitch. I said something you now say you don’t disagree with, but you went on and on for multiple posts arguing with me anyway. I disagree with your interpretation of the OP and your characterization of the arguments people make regarding the Texas Tech result. I simply stated that believing that Texas Tech is better than LSU doesn’t prevent someone from also thinking that the 24-point margin isn’t representative of the degree to which Texas Tech is better and that the result doesn’t prove LSU isn’t a tournament caliber team. You apparently agree with that. So, again, I ask, what are we arguing about here?

From ESPN
So their bench beat Duke.
quote:
Texas Tech (9-3) was already down three players due to injury, then two more players -- LeJuan Watts and Leon Horner -- fouled out. Star big man JT Toppin picked up his fourth foul with 18:26 remaining. McCasland essentially had zero proven options on his bench to deal with Player of the Year favorite Cameron Boozer.
So their bench beat Duke.

We'd probably lose. As would most teams, what's your point?

Like I said you believe numbers just magically appear and that’s fine you’re just wrong.
