Any Georgia comparison is pointless for three reasons.
1. It was last year
2. LSU routed Georgia
3. Georgia wasn't "Up" for the bowl game after losing SEC Championship to Bama. No wind in their sails to speak of.

IMO, the only way Texas has a shot at winning is if LSU's O line is not up to the task.

As far as QB play goes, I've always like Ehlinger from day one. He is a gutsy player. He's not as gutsy as Burrow. Burrow is accurate AF.

Grab a seat belt, you're gonna' need it. If you think for a minute you can contain the LSU run game you are fooling yourself. The only reason the running game *may* be marginal isn't good news for Texas. It will mean you've been thoroughly scorched through the air. LSU easily covers the spread & cruises to a double digit win.

Not a Texas lurker, but come on man. You’re talking like it’s a waste of time to play the game. All indications are that Texas is a solid team playing at home. Both teams are capable of winning the game. The board will be in hysterics during the game, I’d bet.

Texas isn't a normal Big 12 offense, they slow the tempo and play smash mouth football often.

How will Texas play “smash mouth” football with 1 mediocre running back and the QB?

The only shot Texas has to win is on special teams and LSU offense making a ton of mistakes. PERIOD!!

The Deucer is fricking yalls shite up in here. He’s not getting emotional like y’all thought a Texas fan would. He’s sticking to the fact that underdogs win sometimes.

I personally didn’t think that Georgia state would beat Tennessee or Wyoming would beat Mizzou or Boise St. would come back and beat FSU. But shite happens.

Do I think we should beat Texas by 14+? Yes. Am I still nervous about this game? Yes.

A team with a good QB that believes they can win is dangerous.

Who's ranking all those DBs as 5*s. It's not 24/7 composite.

How bout we break down Big XII and SEC offenses by yards per play? You good with that?

Big XII
over 6.0 - 4 teams
under 5.5 - 3 teams

SEC
over 6.0 - 9 teams
under 5.5 - 1 team

Looks like SEC offense are more explosive.
Now here's the defensive numbers as in yards allowed per play

Big XII
over 6.0 - 3 teams
under 5.5 - 2 teams

SEC
over 6.0 - 2 teams
under 5.5 - 7 teams

Besides having the more explosive offenses it seems the SEC has the stinger defenses

Serious about this but, I do understand if you don't respond to my request.

Make a STARTING defense using the current UT starters and LSU's starters?

ESPN has an 80% LSU win probability. The betting line has moved from 2.5 to 6.5 in one week. The sharps certainly expect an LSU win.

It is a home game for UT. Advantage UT. Ehlinger very good QB. Texas has very solid receivers. UT LSU similar offenses. LSU Offense much improved. LSU strength is on defense. Texas has athletic but inexperienced defense. At this level defense wins football games.

LSU should win this game. Turnover margin.. kicking game mistakes .. could flip the game to Texas. Remember LSU lost to Aggies because of a fumbled punt.

LSU is the better team.
However, both teams have talent and, if history has taught us anything, it's' that the best team doesn't always win. Miscues, dropped balls, turnovers or a single blown coverage can be the difference.
LSU is favored and they should be and I expect us to win.
Really, I think it's down to two things.
Can we stop Ehlinger on third downs.
Can the offense (particularly the O line and running game) execute.

Night games anywhere are tough and it will be an electric crowd by Texas standards.

The whole "whoah is us" line about the running backs is classic Herman, wanting the press and everyone including LSU to focus on that.

Still thinking LSU 35-30 or thereabouts, about on the line.
