Texas is the most important game on the schedule. Convince me otherwise.

1) This is pretty much a pre playoff showdown. We are their toughest game. If we beat them, our stock goes way the hell up. Most of their schedule is shite and they WILL win 10 again.

2) alot of our recruiting is in the State of Texas. This head to head matchup will no doubt open up some more Texas recruits to LSU. I can't stress this part enough. Beating the flagship program and A&M in the same year will do wonders.

3) "Texas beat Georgia and LSU. They're back!" frick I can hear it now. It will be remarkably unbearable hearing that spewed on the media and will do nothing but hurt LSU.

4) And last but not least: Going into a hostile environment and taking out a top ten ranked Blue Blood is probably the biggest confidence booster this team could have. Win this game convincingly, and LSU is likely undefeated going into Tuscaloosa..again.

If we lose to Texas, and win every other game on the schedule, LSU is SEC Champions and heading to the playoffs.

Just that alone ends your entire argument.

It's way more important for the psyche of this program to finally get a W against Alabama this year

We have 10 more games after that, including all 8 of our SEC games. While it is of course a ver important game to set the tone for the season and will be a good barometer type game, losing to Texas doesn't hurt our chances of winning the SEC in any way.

We could lose this game and still win a championship so there's that.

If we lose this game, we ain't winning out.

They return the least amount of starters in the FBS.

Well then your same argument can be made for every other game on the schedule LSU is supposed to win.

It's going to be a fun one - that's for sure...

Most important? Not really sure it works that way.

It is, if nothing else it's the first major test.

Ignore these idiots....

Just believe that this will set the tone for the season.

The test to see if it's the year or not. A loss would impact the entire season IMO.

A win would kickstart a playoff run.

No it's not. If we win convincingly in every other contest and play Bama tough, we get a rematch against Bama in the playoff. Guaranteed.

I don't why people think winning against Bama is the end all be all of the season.

UT and how they do the rest of the season is much more important.

Just curious, Are you one of those who thinks we could lose to Alabama and still make the playoffs?

Winning this game doesn't ensure that LSU will be a playoff contender/win the SEC, just as much as losing it will not end the hopes of doing either.

So it being the first major test is what makes it, undoubtedly, the most important game on the schedule?

Nobody is saying it isn't a big game for LSU to win, but to say it's the most important is foolish.

If we have one loss at the end of the season to Bama that isnt a blowout..

How in the hell do you leave us out?

As it stands.. Texas, Florida, and A&M look to be preseason top 10.

What exactly do you mean "one of those fans?" You cant exclude LSU If they do that

I sort of agree. But it's game 2. Everything will still be ahead of us.

You idiot, the next game on the schedule is the most important game on the schedule. But since fluffU doesn't count, he's absolutely correct.

Way to many anal folk on here.

Much easier than having one loss at the end of the season to Texas.

There is a 99.99999% chance LSU is in the playoffs with 1 L to Texas, but winning out.

The chances with one L to Bama means we likely don't even win the West. That gives plenty of reason for LSU to be left out, dependant on what other teams have done.

SEC championship hasnt meant jack shite for years now.

Bama has proven this time and time again.

We are talking about a team that has clawed it's way back into national relevance. Top ten. In a state that we recruit second only to Louisiana itself. If they beat us they stand a huge chance at winning out and potentially taking a spot we could have had.

And LSU has a chance to knock them off.

How is this not the biggest game?
