They do serve alcohol inside DKR. Beer stands all over the lower level and I sat in Section 2 on UT side near goal line on Saturday and had the beer guy stopping by frequently. Pretty damn convenient. Not sure when they went live with this but it is in place.

People who have attended the Longhorns’ 37–14 win against USC on Sept. 15 and Saturday’s win against TCU have said the difference in the vibe is shocking. The energy feels more like a game at LSU or at Penn State.

Welp, at least the vibe in our stadium is still described as "energetic"? That's a plus right?

I really like what Del Conte is doing. Bringing the band back down to the sidelines (for years they were in the south end zone), has made a huge difference. Despite Texas fans' reputation as being a wine and cheese crowd (any many still are), DKR can get very loud. Once the south end zone expansion project is completed, the field will be almost completely enclosed, further serving to hold the crowd noise in.

Hopefully, someone on the new fan council has read that article and will bring to Alleva's attention. He'll probably ignore it though.

It is ridiculous that Texas puts the visiting band in the upper deck and this does take away from the overall game atmosphere. LSU will bring the full band to Texas next year because it is a once in a lifetime game, not too far away, and we have no neutral site game. Texas will bring it's full band to LSU in 2020. LSU will only get 4k tickets so 99% of us will have to get tickets from the secondary market. I got Tx USC tickets from Ticket City for just 85.00 each in the lower north end zone under the visiting upper deck. This is a part of the stadium LSU fans can/should take over

Not sure if still the case, but after Katrina I went to a ULL vs UT game. Seats were terrible. In game experience was bad, BUT there was a huge alumni center across the street from the stadium with AC,booze, TV's, etc and it was free to get in with a game ticket. AND you could leave the game, get stamped, go get some booze, and then re enter the stadium...minus booze.

2. SEC mandates where visiting seat alotments are. Half must be in lower bowl. Texas will get exactly that when they visit us and they will bring their entire band and it will be in the lower bowl. LSU cannot reciprocate without breaking SEC rules.

Just goes to show how much things have changed.

Back in the 1970s, which many consider the glory days of Tiger Stadium, we used to paint one of the end zones in the colors and initials of the visiting team.

I agree, but Texas isn't the only school in the Big XII that does it. Unfortunately for visitors, there is no rule in the Big XII that mandates visitor seating in the lower deck.

If Alleva is still AD at LSU, I'm not sure he will allow the band to use 300 plus tickets, since LSU will only get 4K. That said, I'd love to see the full Tiger Band in DKR.

Possibly, since Dr. Hanna is a Tiger Band alum, he may push his administration to allow the full UT band to travel to Baton Rouge.

While I'm sure that LSU will have more than 4K fans in DKR, it will be a tough ticket to get. I imagine that Texas fans are looking forward to this game as much as LSU fans are.

Why would this SEC rule apply to a non-conference game? That is our standard operating procedure so I don't expect it to change, but this is not an SEC game so why would that matter.
