Considering Orgeron himself has said it was no big deal and has continued to clarify that and reiterate that, the media and the fans need to STFU.

Its not, they made a statement calling out LSU and la tech and neither has responded

No they didn't. You need to look at the UT response carefully. Not one time did they say the A/C was turned on. They said it was working, they said they pride themselves on treating visiting teams properly, they said everything in the locker room was in working order.....but not one time in the statement issued by their AD did they say the A/C was turned on. Not once.

This thread reminds me of the UF hurricane-gate PR kerfuffle. At first all of our fans thought we kicked arse b/c of what all their friends and LSU people were saying. Then, they realized that on the national level, Fla's AD was kicking our arse.
we lose these PR battles with alarming regularity, and this one may not be over yet.
(And, no, I am not siding with Texas. What they did reeks of poultry droppings).

First of all, your summary of the UF situation is erroneous. That is not at all what came from that.

Second of all, you have to be really dense and/or not able to see through bullshite to pay attention to this story and come out from it on the back side and say that. Any fricking dipshit moron could see what’s going on with this story. If ANYTHING, it puts UT in a bad light. The AD would have been better just to not respond.

It was a used car salesmen type response. A half truth:

We didn’t include the spare tire with the sale because you didn’t ask for it.

But in this case, it’s a little more important than a spare tire. Because, you know, the whole heat exhaustion/heat stroke thing...

The AC was turned on. They just had the thermostat set on 85.

But you’re right, LSU won the PR/narrative war on this one.

It's such an odd feeling to do PR right. If this happened last season, we'd have ended up giving our side of the home and home back and traveling to Texas next year, too, for breaking their AC.

Joe Alleva's name cannot be dragged through the mud enough.

And to watch Texas absolutely shite the bed on its PR. They hardly could have handled it more poorly.
